Because he doesn’t have any real ife experiences outside of music

He just doesn’t seem like a person who ever really got taken seriously as an adult

Nothing about his content feels like something a real adult can connect with and R&B is an adult lane.

Lmao what is this, one week in prime Bieber's life is more than most people have ever lived. You can argue that he has missed out on his developmental years and would've been better off if he slowed down and matured gradually like a normal person, but that man has LIVED.

This speaks to the talent of Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Bobby brown who made it in their childhood (both in groups) and still had remarkable solo careers
They must've exceptionally talented and creative

Also prince and little richard were child prodigies and also had remarkable solo projects/careers

All entertainers/artists mentionned above preserved their mojo since childhood all the way up to their artistic primes

Stevie Wonder, Fiona Apple and D'Angelo were child prodigies too

Creativity is something inherently different from being able to make a cover of a song. While were at the subject: Covers should be made illegal. It’s detrimental to the music industry.

Covers can be really creative and good

Idk if you read that Megan Thee Stallion thread, but a lot of these celebrities have really tight schedules and they are controlled by the label

Magazine shoots, video shoots, PR stunts, parties, shows everyday, then you're in that life too much and don't really have anything else to experience and talk about

That's why you have to take a break like some artists do in between eras, but some can't / don't want to

Justin Bieber did take like a 5 year old break though, but made a wack bland ass album, but it might be because he's not really interested in making a good album anymore

the world they existed in is so so so different from the 21st century. Acclaim and popularity was still rooted in skill and artistic merit and not just pushing a brand like today’s artists do

MJ was abused and given lifelong trauma in the same way other child stars have been including Bieber, it’s just that the demands of the industry brought out better music from him than it did from people like Bieber

So that's the thing, he has had too many real life experiences. Always busy traveling the world, getting validation from girls for his brand plus often not having real friends around. Before he could even blink he found himself an adult. I think he has matured a bit in the last few years but he always seemed oblivious to a lot of things.

Acting like Purpose isn't top 5 Pop albums of the 2010s

a lot of people can play instruments and sing at young ages

takes much more than that to actually create original music

Bieber’s singles are marketed for bubble gum suburbia

But he wants his albums to be appreciated by a totally different demographic

If you make suburbia hits, make your album for that crowd because they won’t appreciate an album curated to a more serious audience’s taste

If you want your album to be taken seriously, make your singles such that a serious crowd can appreciate those as well as the actual content of your project.

Beiber tries to accomplish too many different things and only accomplishes billboard success as a result

Thats just factually incorrect. Blinding Lights was most definitely and flagrantly aimed at suburban white moms and After Hours is a pop project sprawling with creativity and edge
