Them older folks at my job are caffeine fiends. Trying to make sure I don’t end up like that. I have a cup from time to time but never more than that. I don’t really feel much different with or without it tbh

as someone that never started drinking it I do find it a little strange how acceptable a caffeine addiction is. no real judgment I mean I'm basically addicted to thc and nicotine but obviously there's no equivalent Starbucks for either of those two d**** is kinda the point. it is weird.

    People over consume it

Coffee was first normalized as a drink in Yemen/Arab regions and other ottoman territories

We drink it in super tiny cups

Western workers chug highly potent cold brews that are like 16 oz

    That’s a good point

Caffeine been used for a long time but in the modern age (and the West particularly) ppl have technologized it to go way too hard too fast, faster than society can collectively recognize

For instance: “The Food and D*** Administration (FDA) in the United States currently allows only beverages containing less than 0.02% caffeine; but caffeine powder, which is sold as a dietary supplement, is unregulated.”

The basically global social acceptance of caffeine as a “safe d***” came about over time in reaction to more moderate consumption habits like you describe

It was never intended to “apply to” ppl going OD on some pre-workout called CARDIAC EXPLOSION

Interesting. I used to have a caffeine addiction way back but quit for a couple years. Now when I drink coffee it’s only 1 cup a day and the cup is really small. Only fill up half the cup so I’m only getting 4-5 sips max. Keeps me energized and productive all day and my sleep doesn’t suffer. Can’t imagine drinking a 16oz or even a “tall” Starbucks cup anymore that s*** is overkill
