because society has programmed everyone to think that engaging in some sort of physical activity is better than seeking out true help from a professional.

    i‘m saying

  • I’m a stakeholder for Planet Fitness and my sole goal is to increase value by any means possible every action or conversation I have is a long-game to launder people into subscribing to a membership. The fitness gimmick is just a branding

  • Exercise is accessible. Not everyone has someone to confide in or can afford therapy, but you don’t need anything to move your body around.

In my experience, the gym hasn’t really “fixed” or changed my depression or insecurities, they’ve just kinda shifted into new contexts. The benefits of just physically feeling better definitely help tho, and it’s a great way to blow off steam.

Being depressed with muscles >>>>> being depressed and fat

  • Because exercise is one of the greatest things you can do for your brain.

Can’t imagine what I’d feel like if I didn’t lift weights every early morning.

  • Also helps get you into a routine which is good for your brain.

  • Also helps you learn to push through hard things which is good for your brain.

  • Also helps you be only in that present moment and not thinking about the future or past which is good for the brain.

    "have u tried jacking off?"

  • Generally exercise is good for raising your baseline energy level and developing more resilience mentally but it doesnt address the core problem

  • Exercise is a low cost (relatively speaking it can get expensive) activity that has both physical and mental benefits. There aren’t a lot of activities that check all of those boxes

  • Also take walks outside consistently

  • Because it’s good for you?

    Listen to @Jim_Halpert_ , everything he’s saying is a right-down-the-root fact, also he’s a brainologist

  • Excersize is always great. Some people use it as an excuse tho because it can give you a sense of progression in your life when you are not doing anything other than hit the gym every 2 days

Thread a disgrace, only grounded take comes from @Jim_Halpert_ . Saying that you either get professional help or gym replaces a psychologist is crazy indeed. Coupling both is a big step towards improving your mental health

You release stress, get out the house, improve your self image and possibly meet new people all in the same space. The gym is a great start to combat depression
