unfortunately i‘m prone to have public mental breakdowns esp recently so i‘ve been in situations where i had to explain myself and my mental well being to which almost everybody eventually responded to me with going gym as the remedy
i don‘t actively ask for advice but when i try explaining my situation people naturally feel obliged to give me advice
Why dont you go out and run man or do alone sport activities. Of course if you feel that bad I suggest visiting a psychologist or psychiatrist depending on the gravity. At the end of the day once you are stable the doctor will also suggest you get some movement
I started to f heavy w sports during oandemic ironically. My mental and physical health really improved by 10x. I really dont see my self not doing sports less than 4/5 times a week
It’s really an easy formula.
it can be a bunch of different trivial things however the core cause of it is always the lack of joy and loneliness in my life
Damn.
I really would advise waking early and doing like 4-5 things that keep you in that moment.
It’s a great habit to have.
Probably the habit to have tbh
question the norm take
ktt argues it back to status quo
clockwork
its not the destination it's the journey
i‘m peeping the importance of the overcoming and sticking to a routine thing though
i dont care about the gym but if i can make that consistent committment to something im passionate abt it would help me
bodybuilding and exercise have a massive impact on the daily processing of my depression/SI ngl. somewhere in between the actual chemical release you get from good hard exercise and the spiritual release of exercising out your traumas and stress. it's essentially the best natural outlet you can utilize that would make the biggest positive impact on your life
You release stress, get out the house, improve your self image and possibly meet new people all in the same space. The gym is a great start to combat depression
Agree with all this except meeting people. I don’t recommend talking to anyone at the gym ngl
It’s really just the simplest, least invasive, objectively good piece of advice someone can give you. If you’re talking to an actual therapist and they refuse to address anything other than you should go to the gym that’s different. But for friends, family and acquaintances who aren’t actual therapists this is just the obvious advice to give.
Exercise makes it easier to live with
My take is depression is not a mental disorder its an energy disorder. Honestly yoga helped me way more than exercise. But yoga is actually interesting because it can be too powerful for some people

Yoga is exercise!
they are gay
Its true . It takes ur mind off of things and makes you feel better . But sometimes the gym is depressing itself . I like to just walk outdoors to get the sun and the fresh air. Kill depression! Dont welcome it, Thx
Depression hates a moving target
Damn this a bar
its not the destination it's the journey
its both 2 me but do u
Its the easiest option for better or worse. Not everyone has the time or the skill to get into the weeds like that.
But depresssion and other mental health anomalies aren’t one size fits all and I’m straight ignoring any take that implies differently lol
Because unfortunately a lot of folks out there have little to no actual great and/or legitimately compassionate advice/words when it comes to mental health nor actually truly understand it (and I say that as someone that goes to the gym regularly and is in great shape)

I dont ever go out my way to do it these days but it can happen organically, I’ve gotten compliments and advice which did not blossom into anything more but it’s a good microdose of socializing
people be distracting themselves and not allowing themselves to process their emotions by getting too immersed as a gymbro
I’m an advocate of how exercise can help you feel better but what your sayin is 100% true. I’ve seen mfs rage at the gym over the smallest s*** and it’s clear they were distracting themselves
I’m not a gym guy either, but exercise and movement are huge helps for me.
I do a pretty gentle yoga practice 5x a week and walk outside everyday
Idk if you have access to outdoor space or a community garden but gardening can be a huge help too from what I hear
Gym never makes anyone look better in the face
