If you could get all the benefits of exercise in a pill, everyone would take it.

  • it helps a bit but for me it wasn't the difference between being depressed and not being depressed. Im still depressed just stronger now

    Listen to @Jim_Halpert_ , everything he’s saying is a right-down-the-root fact, also he’s a brainologist

It’s a great habit to have.

Thread a disgrace, only grounded take comes from @Jim_Halpert_ . Saying that you either get professional help or gym replaces a psychologist is crazy indeed. Coupling both is a big step towards improving your mental health

because society has programmed everyone to think that engaging in some sort of physical activity is better than seeking out true help from a professional.

And yet professionals will tell you they never cured someone

Society has programmed us to infinitely a***yze ourselves, since we started doing this about a hundred years ago people have only gotten more depressed. The essence of Being is living and acting in the world.

  • i laugh out loud when i see ads for running products that mention 'runner's high' second sentence in an ad read this is literally like selling people air

unfortunately i‘m prone to have public mental breakdowns esp recently so i‘ve been in situations where i had to explain myself and my mental well being to which almost everybody eventually responded to me with going gym as the remedy

i don‘t actively ask for advice but when i try explaining my situation people naturally feel obliged to give me advice

Cannot think of any show or film I’ve seen recently where that happens. But I am pretty picky with what I watch I don’t really do background s***.

Because you can just get up and go. It's also a really easy rabbit hole to go down that can distract you from whatever you're dealing with.
