The idea that you can remove/replace any one of them is something that needs to be retired. It's kinda like how the big 3 of anime is/was Naruto, One Piece and Bleach. They were the 3 most successful and impactful animes at the time, all with varying levels of global appeal. You can't bring up another popular anime from the mid 2010s and replace it with like Bleach for instance. Doesn't work that way.

Future/Travis/Tyler/etc will never be a part of that trio and that's okay. Doesn't take away from their success and anything they've accomplished.

Tyler I would put in a big 4 because he came up around the same exact time, he has the rapping ability, he has the mass appeal, the influence, the discography. But you're right Big 3 is not an active thing where rappers are rotated in an out, it was a blog era moment and can only be recreated organically.

I do like these conversations when they're giving guys like Tyler, Future, and Travis their flowers but it is meaningless beyond giving flowers

Tyler wouldnt even be 4th lmao

    I need answers

    He not lyrical

He can ride the beat well but you dont go from Wayne Drake Hov Ye Eminem TI to Future. He just get high and vibe on the beat which is cool but thats not big 3. At the same time the silver lining for him is that the low standard of not having to be lyrical preserves him in amber

    This basically

Future is a Legend but he’s been a solid 2nd tier rapper for the past 10+ years

2nd tier but he’s had way more hits than Cole has since FHD. Foh

Do yall really believe this over nobody who can’t make traditional rap without all the extra gimmicks and melodies and stuttering trap beats cant be big 3. Lmaoo its no tangible force or rule that stops future from being big 3, subconsciously it just wont be if you dont make an effort to show you’ve mastered traditional rap. Which is what Dot Cole Drake Wayne Em Kanye Hov TI 50 all did. You don’t go from that to a nigga just getting high saying what come to mind. Shoulda dropped a few albums as Meathead

Exactly. Dude’s saying he “vibes to the beat” like he’s not putting out clever punchlines and vulnerable verses.

Again maybe it’s different if you white and not from the south but a basic understanding of lingo and listening to rap for 10+ years to know the tropes its not hard to make the type of music future makes which is why every other two niggas in atlanta or the south in general got at least one decent song lmao.

Its moreso impressive that he innovated that style from the scraps of wayne t pain and rich kidz and put in the work to get where he is but lyrically thats dog s*** compared to any other actual serious mainstream rapper. Let him be great for what he is but dont act like he really be putting together some s*** that make you think twice lmaoo. Its good music but not big 3 rapper worthy. He in his own lane of artist that he made from scratch

Luda was cold as hell by the time Wayne Kanye Drake Hov were the vanguard which is mostly the era Im thinking of

Luda got busy but he reminds me of an era where there werent really as concrete of a big 3 type of thing. Ironically he and like Nelly remind me of what Future is in that they Just completely their own thing. You never really heard people say Luda was nicer than hov or wayne but he just had his own thing that he made from scratch

Thats pivoting discussion to something else. He showed he had an ability to traditionally rap on songs like Ignorant S*** first one that comes to mind

    Future doesnt do those

    Nah.

Wayne is widely considered part of the 2000's Big 3.

He the exception and he honestly was the tipping point to where a future could even exist. Its a lot of people who broke up with rap right there lol but for us its the renaissance
