Honestly though I think in order to get people to start crossing the line to the right side of history you need to be able to face and answer tough questions like you proposed. Once people start understanding the disadvantages of being an African American and how it goes beyond surface level struggles they’ll be able to see why people are fighting so hard for a change

you have a beautiful mind, man. God bless you.

black people aren't killing each other because they're black. they aren't people in power. they aren't people placed in a position meant to protect us and other citizens.

not hard to understand, and it's a product of the systems we're fighting against.

lack of resources and school funding and jobs=by any means necessary mentality=poverty motivated violence

love how mfs dont understand basic concepts of redlining and how blacks were shut out of prosperous financial opportunity, not "lazy niggas cant get a job cuz they dont try enough"

the people killing these youth are getting sentenced anyways so it pretty much kills whatever point youre trying to make
black youth gets killed by black male results in life sentence for black male
black youth gets killed by police or white guy and it results in acquittal

its not that hard to comprehend

a 7 year old black girl was shot in the head yesterday on the south side of chicago. i dont give a s*** about these talking points

then you're an idiot and don't understand what's being talked about.

do you understand how full the plate would be if we were protesting every black life lost? do you understand that without knowing who the people killing other black people are we can't hold them accountable? the outrage isn't simply "another black life has been lost". It's due to people in the system taking those lives, or blatantly seenig that life taken and nothing is done to the person that is shown committing the crime.

if you don't understand that, you clearly don't understand what any of this has been about and can't see past the surface value of the title of the movement.

it's like he wants us to add more black people to the prison system instead of go for the system that placed them in that lifestyle in the first place.

    how so

    You posted this:

these people are so blinded by modern liberal politics that they cant even admit that there is a very real and demonic issue facing my community

Yet most people will agree that “black on black” crime is ofc a real issue.

Comparing the two is very dumb though as they’re fundamentally different. Yes black people die in both scenarios, but one is directly attributed to race while the other isn’t. “Black on black” crime is just crime. It isn’t being done with racial undertones. Police brutality often is. These are very different problems. Yes, they’re both problems though, and I doubt anyone will disagree on that part even though you claim they will.

Just because one thing doesn’t have enough attention, doesn’t mean people are dumb for giving attention to something else that’s also a clear issue.

And boiling the issue down to “lol look at these liberal idiots” does absolutely nothing for anyone.

the fact you'd have to explain that to a black person or any person of color is sad as s***. especially one trying to use politics to derail

people in thread making excuses for black death and then call me a coon. all i ever said was to address BOTH types of events. when you live through this violence or know someone personally affected, then you will see that the violence in Chicago ain’t a f***in political point. these are black lives being torn from their bodies for absolute nonsense. we can’t even be outside for too long in fear of being shot. don’t ever come at me on no bullshit like what you all are saying

Because it's a slogan that was coined to shine a light on police murder and brutality.

Why do you only talk about gang violence to defend police murder?

Don't make me look through your posts. I know you never gave a f*** about dead black kids until the police got some heat.

Basically this is exactly what they’re saying when they bring up the myth of black on black crime.

Long story short: inner city crime is due to a number of factors some out of the control of black people as a whole. No one is ever killed for just being black. And no one ever is caught and camera and given a get out a jail free card.

You noticed all the riots stopped once the officers were arrested right? All people want is accountability for the police. Black men aren’t killing and walking free.

    Riots still happening daily.

It shouldn’t be about sentences though

Brothers need to stop killing each other on the whole, whether they go to prison or not.

We already got the deck stacked against us there’s no need to make the game harder being black in America by causing turmoil for your own.

    That’s just my opinion tho

I think we need to focus on how the system itself is f***ed up and that there needs to be basic human protections for black lives. It's hard to change things on a community level when the entire system is racist.
