This is why history is ā€œopen to interpretationā€. Even with facts, it is pretty easy to lie and distort history.

The facts are most Asians immigrated to the US after 1965. That is just the facts. There were strict quotas on Asian immigration and you can even look up the USā€™ demographics before and after the civil rights movement. So how in the hell can anyone with a straight face say that black people didnā€™t advocate for Asian rights? Hispanic rights? Etc. ridiculous

asian - I told my daughter that today is a big day. Theyā€™ve ended affirmative action. ā€œIsnā€™t it what youā€™re been fighting for?ā€ she asked. I said yes.

jamele - Canā€™t wait until she reads that you gladly carried the water for white supremacy and stabbed the folks in the back whose people fought diligently for Asian American rights in America.

jason - "Good lord, Jemele argued that we (black people) "fought diligently for Asian American rights." This is the kind of detached-from-reality logic that earned her promotions at the Detroit Free Press, Orlando Sentinel and ESPN. Or was it Affirmative Action? There is far more proof (and burial plots) of white evangelicals fighting for black American rights than black Americans fighting for the rights of Asians. She's just dumb and dishonest. She's exhibit A in why the elimination of Affirmative Action is necessary. Credentialing idiots is not a good idea," he tweeted.

I didnā€™t realize how much cope people were huffing getting denial letters from colleges, raging internally like ā€œUGH they probably gave my spot to a black person, thatā€™s why I donā€™t get to go to MIT šŸ˜”ā€

i believe in the value of intent

i dont think there was much intent to do anything for asian american rights during the civil rights movement. therefore i dont think we really actively pushed for or advocated for asian american rights. i also dont think you can just compare how they were perceived and treated to african americans

the reason so few people are capable in the art of war is because they lack the ability to see from other peoples perspective

im not saying anyone is right or wrong for feeling a certain way, but to act like asian americans should be mad about affirmative action being repealed is just unrealistic

everything in life can be described as a game or as a competition. understanding this is a key step in learning how to navigate this world
