So many came that they had to make the Chinese Exclusion Act. The transcontinental railroad and mining industry relied upon them heavily. This is s*** you should've learned in school my guy

Yes, we know that. Iā€™m asking what did Asians do to fight that back or reverse action?

i believe in the value of intent

i dont think there was much intent to do anything for asian american rights during the civil rights movement. therefore i dont think we really actively pushed for or advocated for asian american rights. i also dont think you can just compare how they were perceived and treated to african americans

    Wrong

affirmative action actively worked against allowing qualified asians into certain positions and into certain institutions

why the f*** would asians not be happy its gone? you all just sound crazy rn

Wrong especially the certain positions part. If anything, Asians get far more chances off being Asian lmao.

Affirmative action is not Hispanics and black vs asians. It's for all minorities.

White people are using them as a proxy to bash all the other races. "They don't need it so why should xxx"

The guy who ended up suing blamed AA but in reality if legacy admissions didn't exist, he gets in. I don't have to tell you who benefits the most from legacy admissions just like i don't have to tell you who will benefit the most from the rejection of AA

affirmative action is explicitly for increasing underrepresented groups in professional fields, this is based on representation relative to the total population of a particular race in a country, while asians are minorities theyre not necessarily minorities within certain fields, thus it is not true that affirmative action is designed to benefit all minorities

Are you f***ing dumb? I didnā€™t have to be alive during the civil rights era to acknowledge the reality of what happened. People like you simply ignore REALITY. Historical record says the civil rights movement resulted in the civil rights act which resulted in a direct increase in Asian immigration as well as their rights not being infringed upon based on their race/ethnicity. The civil rights act is for every race and ethnicity. What did the Asian community do for the civil rights act to get put into place? The answer is nothing hence why they are model minorities. This is historical record and facts. Stop playing games and kick rocks.

the reason so few people are capable in the art of war is because they lack the ability to see from other peoples perspective

im not saying anyone is right or wrong for feeling a certain way, but to act like asian americans should be mad about affirmative action being repealed is just unrealistic

everything in life can be described as a game or as a competition. understanding this is a key step in learning how to navigate this world

So do you think that asians outside of fields they dominate don't benefit from AA?
