To the masses, she was a pretty light skinned who came out of nowhere with too on and that was it.
Have always felt that her initial approach, with her mixtapes and stuff, was the route she should have stuck to. Didn't identify or solidify her base enough.

She’s not interesting basically. Her personality overshadows her music. Mostly because her music isn’t groundbreaking enough to do the reverse.

Because she couldn’t produce a follow up hit to 2 On. That Aquarius record was good but all the attempts at hits fell flat. Pretend was too down tempo for that era, All Hands on Deck was missing that special sauce production wise. Feels Like Vegas would have been the best one to push but even then I don’t see how she stays relevant.

Tinashe is more of a Frank Ocean type artist rather than popstar personality wise. She’s lives very closed off and intimate life. So she really doesnt have personality that’s meme-able. That’s where RCA f***ed up but I don’t blame them based on the success of 2 On.
She also got signed when r&b was taking a shift. The dark wave from Weeknd, Party created was taking over. Artist like Ciara or Keri Hilson were not blowing up in the early 2010s, they were fading away. Instead of sticking to that alt-r&b sound that got her signed in the first place.
