Did Yachty have a lot of songs before Minnesota?
He wiped his stuff when one night blew up but there’s been music since like 2013

Minnesota isn't even on his Wiki page and that s*** premiered on OVO radio while he was on a nationwide tour before having a record out
Sus
Industry isn’t giving it a push.
Slayworld could’ve been something but they had no guidance and they all had some sort of allegation
I mean im around younger people alot, most think lazerdim is just a meme. They fw him but not like how u fw with an artist you fr fw
And Ian is a plant, its known these cosigns are just money behind him
brother, being a plant was not uncommon in the soundcloud era. Its never been uncommon. uzi had thug and don cannon behind him before his first serious release, carti was signed with self titled and even had industry backing before that, not to mention being mentored by asap rocky. if your gonna say that doesnt count, then the only difference is whether it was made public or not. Uzi and carti werent taken seriously at the time, by the equivalent to you back then. people like lil pump were considered just memes.

You people ruined what being a plant is
You people ruined what being a plant is
you clearly have no idea what industry plant means
i be trying to get into some of these new guys but man...
if you sincerely want to get into it, I would go by the underground lineage and just listen to the progression, itll help a lot. Also a lot of underground stuff now is genuinely very experimental and noisey, its a niche appeal lol. They arent trying to make pop songs really.
Death of radio is a huge part
Another part is the lack of dominant hip hop outlets. Ppl don't tune into the XXL like they used to

if u want a proper breakdown of the history since the beggining i have a chart i could post. Its a lot of stuff though, but some of it could def give u a better grasp of whats going on rn.

yea post it, im interested
uzi and carti were special for every one of them there were a bunch of dyed hair me too melodic rappers. i think it’s just that the talent isn’t quite as much there like there’s a ton of new artists i love but nobody’s really making anthems or being self identifiable like these guys were

nemzzz out now great young artist
you clearly have no idea what industry plant means
Being a plant isn’t an early backing, it’s also the facade of being indie
There was no facade for these guys, they just weren’t signed to a major label until late 2016
