He’s right. A lot of Drakes music is devoid of a lot of soul and rawness.

Just posturing/bragging and made up stories and personas

Drake pours his heart out into whatever bullshit he’s making whether it sucks or not

Literally every song on CLB can be connected to his personal life rather than vague platitudes

It elevates him over everyone else, not just kanye

    ^ alts?

  • Oct 18, 2021

Most of the time he’s speaking about some bullshit. He’ll have like 7-8 songs per album where he’s talking that talk but most of this s*** he’s rapping about some bullshit

Grammys? what the f*** is that bullshit.

Definitely thought it was corny when I wrote it, but it also isn't untrue lmao.

When does Drake REALLY get into his own emotions? Like not just surface level s*** like "I f***ed up" or "you hurt me". I'm talking about really digging into his pain and his own flaws and insecurities as a man.

Kanye will call himself out for the s*** he put Kim through. For his addiction and his outbursts. Even things like "All she want was Nikes, this is not about me". You can hear the sincerity in his voice as he confronts putting his own grievances aside for his family. He'll sound damn near in tears with his delivery sometimes when he gets in his emotional bag.

Drake just doesn't do that. Drake always has to come off like he's so smooth and cool all the time. Thats how he wants to be perceived by the world and its working and thats great for him. Truly, this isn't a knock at Drake. He does what he does well, and I enjoy it. His success is a blessing to him and those around him. But this thread asked a genuine question and I gave a genuine answer

drake got famous by being his real corny self when every other rapper was afraid to cause they had to look cool. marvins room for example.

lately he's gotta keep a cool persona though i agree, guess that's what comes with tryna stay at the top
