No need to act like you weren’t talking bullshit itt

Im simply saying you’re wrong, your claim is biased BS, and you have to pull your head out of your ass

Remember the classic drake Stan argument that numbers don’t lie and they aint

People on this site are something else huh

lol you can not like Yeezus, but when multiple ppl in the industry including Izzy say it's their favorite Kanye album, you can't deny it's status.

yeah but that's not even what they were discussing, so it's a moot point

yall act like Yeezus is SB2H when people hype on this site hype it up lol. it's certified

Kanye pours his heart out into whatever bullshit he’s making whether it sucks or not

Literally every song on DONDA can be connected to his personal life rather than vague platitudes

It elevates him over everyone else, not just drake

this is the realest answer, like whatever you want to say about ye. he f***ing goes in to make his music

Definitely thought it was corny when I wrote it, but it also isn't untrue lmao.

When does Drake REALLY get into his own emotions? Like not just surface level s*** like "I f***ed up" or "you hurt me". I'm talking about really digging into his pain and his own flaws and insecurities as a man.

Kanye will call himself out for the s*** he put Kim through. For his addiction and his outbursts. Even things like "All she want was Nikes, this is not about me". You can hear the sincerity in his voice as he confronts putting his own grievances aside for his family. He'll sound damn near in tears with his delivery sometimes when he gets in his emotional bag.

Drake just doesn't do that. Drake always has to come off like he's so smooth and cool all the time. Thats how he wants to be perceived by the world and its working and thats great for him. Truly, this isn't a knock at Drake. He does what he does well, and I enjoy it. His success is a blessing to him and those around him. But this thread asked a genuine question and I gave a genuine answer

great post but they gonna ignore this

yall hating on yeezus just have weird hangups on overtly experimental music. the f***ing balls alone to follow up mbdtf with a song like on sight is unbelievable and should be enough to win you over. yeezus is an artist at the top of their power making music for no one else but themselves. an incredible work that will be remembered more fondly as time wears on in a similar way to sgt peppers losing esteem to revolver, or ziggy stardust to Low. no other album in his discography has the same precision, will to experiment or execution. the ambition of that album is unmatched and honestly i dont think its much of a stretch to say that its at least as influential as 808's .that s*** is always going to be my favorite. and thats not even touching the socio-economic implications of a black artist renting out an entire wing of the louvre to record a song called i am a god

Yes that’s true but the sound he was experimenting with on those collab albums laid the groundwork for yeezus

    Ending of Paris for example

i think youre splitting hairs here, yes every artist has work that leads to the next, but most people i think would regard those as either seperate works or transitional albums. Yeezus is a fuller package than cruel summer. Watch the throne is as conceptually interesting, but yeezus is stronger in its execution and has a clearer thesis to its themes.

You Kanye stans can pretend that you liked some other album more than Donda this year

But if we’re keepin it a buck, no other gave you the feeling

tsu is the best song on clb, and i like others but i think it’s pretty undeniable that drake is more focused on the commercialization of his music than kanye

  • amory

it’s his most cinematic sounding work since LR

even tho i don’t love a lot of the tracks, i can’t lie songs like come to life and 24 just cause ur heart to swell up and s***

i wish i had the language to describe why

i def think he took some cues from blond, i find the drumless tracks to be the most impactful

i thought the entire album drumless was a bit too much, but now that tracks like jonah and pure souls have drums, it makes the impact of songs like come to life and NCLB that much greater

    production is so theatrical

  • Oct 18, 2021

Well Donda are feelings ripped from the soul and made into song form

CLB is the s*** on toilet paper you wipe from your a******
