It's a not a deflection in the same sense at all.

All Lives Matter only exists because Black Lives Matter exists as a form of demeaning the entire message behind BLM. It exists purely to spite BLM. Those people saying All Lives Matter don't really believe that because if all lives mattered, then Black Lives would matter too. Instead it's a reactionary protest with a thinly veiled message.

Violence, prejudice, and all other forms of misconduct exists with or without the other sex's involvement and are more prevalent in different ways.

There is marketability in displaying the message that men are bad and need to change, yet I'm waiting for the counterpart that calls out all of the forms of discrimination- not just against straight men by straight men but everyone.

It's not marketable to do so. If the climate was the other way, this same company would make a commercial about it.

This is the same as when white people say “more White people are killed by cops” if it’s really about police brutality then why not fight for all people not black people.

Like I said the same way I’m not for white people tryna undermine what the black community is tryna fight for I’m not tryna undermine the s*** that women say they face from men or whatever.

But agree to disagree tho 🤝

You take the worst traits of people, cartoonishly amplify them to simple caricatures, and put them in an ad to appeal to the twitter generation and think that's gonna make anyone with the ability to contextualize beyond the level of a 13 year old wanna go and buy your product.

It's a slap in the face and disgusting pandering and virtue signaling.

    whew

Women are attracted to prototypical men.
Being openly emotional or acting more "feminine" is unattractive.

I don’t think that’s what toxic masculinity is tho.

And we gonna act like b****es don’t love e boy types?

They like guys who look like that, but Im talking more about personality.

Aggression, assertiveness, emotionless is what I mean.

"toxic masculinity", feels like a very broad term tbh. How would you define it?

  • Mar 17, 2021
    We Didnt Like That

Sounds like you had an overreaction, if you're a good guy don't let this be a personal attack on you no one seriously thinks it's 98% bad men out here. You sound like you fell for those outrage youtube propaganda people that spout white genocide bs in every video

yeah the culture war is all bullshit made to distract from real issues happening

Man I hate how all women f***ing cheat and talk s*** about each other. Women f***ing suck all they do is lie, have pre marital sex, and get abortions.

I think to really drill this point home, I'm gonna make a Venus commercial displaying how lame it is to be a woman.

    How'd that make you feel?

    Dudes like this basically

Like dudes who act out of insecurity and immaturity as opposed to guys who are actually confident, assertive, etc.

    Yea thats what I mean.
These guys see confident and assertive men getting laid, so they try to emulate it themselves. It can be overt like what you see in the video, but the only reason they act like that is so they can try and get laid.

Being the shy non talkative guy isn't gonna work either.

Niggas miss the whole point of the post I made, have no credible argument against it, resort to saying loser

The point was to pretend I'm a f***ing razor company: I took exaggerated traits attributed to females, blanketed them over all females, and decided to make a grand stand claiming women should be better because of some obvious exaggerations and generalizations. Btw buy my razors. That's what this s***ty ass cash grab commercial is.

Contextualizing do be a difficult task tho (but not really)

I mean. I think it's pretty obvious men have more work to do than women when it comes to treating the other gender better. Do we need to hear this s*** from a gilette ad? Probably not. I'm not a fan of when brands try to make some deep ad like the jeep ad from this superbowl. But I'm pretty sure most of the men that hate this don't because it's from gilette, they just hate it cause they disagree with the message that men gotta be better to women. But I could be wrong

  • It’s virtue signaling it’s mainstream gender generalization and the fact some of y’all standby and act like it’s ok is funny

How is this a masculinity smear campaign?

The main things I got from the commercial is 1. Don’t make women feel uncomfortable, 2. Don’t be a bully, 3. Speak up when you see others doing 1 and 2.

it’s basically toxic masculinity: the commercial. i’ve always thought the phrase was dishonest because it implies masculinity itself is wrong. all the things labeled toxic masculinity can be done by women. and for every man who did evil there was a man his polar opposite.

also the same things they demonize in men they end up calling on. white feather feminists in WWI used to shame men for NOT enlisting in war because they needed their protection. ayesha curry was crying on tv because men WEREN’T catcalling her.

the constant attack on masculinity is a cancer. the canary in the coal mine was the black community in the 70s. the hood became a matriarch where the father lived outside the home and women raised the sons. feminism brainwashed them saying they don’t need a man and state welfare policies restricted support to families with a man in the home. incentivizing single motherhood. the “black men ain’t s***” movement was born and the boys they raised started doing worse then the generations that preceded it. the more you push masculinity out the worse men become and society in general.

Word. Toxic masculinity ≠ masculinity. Masculinity is never attacked. Nobody attacks assertiveness, they attack aggressiveness. They don't attack being protective, they attack being violent.
