One of my least favorite things about KTT is when people on here shut their brains off when they want to throw cheap shots at an artist they don't like
The project with DJ Drama on it had other people's beats on it?
yea I will say it’s pretty clear that CMIYGL was not advertised the same way
But I get it ——it’s free season on Tyler’s head lol
What did he arrange
Little known fact, Tyler actually produced wrote and arranged for Al Green in the 70s, and in the 90s he was actually telling RZA and Prince Paul how to program their beats, Tyler was the brains behind it all
The project with DJ Drama on it had other people's beats on it?
Such a lame excuse, read through the thread
There’s no precedent for putting out a retail album with DJ Drama, using other people’s beats but then giving yourself sole production credit for all the beats you jumped on lol
I love Tyler I’m saying what I’m saying as a fan

He claims himself as the sole producer though
Lank?
you can check them on spotify, he gave the original producers writing credits but that's it
Bro is one of the most important pioneers in internet culture and changed how the youth consumes it with OF
How could he be pretentious

Lank?
The credits, he’s the “sole producer” of almost all the songs, he credited Jamie XX and Jay Versace for their production but for some reason didn’t give the same treatment to Conductor Williams, Prince Paul, and more.

No I understood what beats were used on Call me
I just didn’t know he said it was arranged and produced by him

I know Dean blunt is a bum not interested
@Bow_And_Arrow you know damn well if someone tried to make a song on a Tyler beat and put front and center “produced written arranged by me” and only credited Tyler as a sample in the booklet, never really publicizing it beyond that, that Tyler WOULD NOT be having that s*** lol. He would hate for someone to take credit for his work or something he actually played
That Conductor beat was a year old lol Tyler called it a “sample” to minimize royalties and/or claim credit it would seem
Honestly some of the blame could go to his legal team, someone outside of him must have convinced him that the way to go was just credit the producers as samples rather than producers to minimize royalty payments or something
But that’s stealing
this is the actual stickler here @2words is right to be on his ass for that s***
sampling isn’t the issue here, it’s moreso Tyler acting like he’s some sort of prodigal music savant that’s wholly original, but then he s***s out a project filled with largely unprocessed samples, and then stamps it with “produced arranged etc. by me”
kinda wild to me dawg ngl
You get it That's not even all the samples, but I don't think there's another egregious one like Are We Still Friends and Puppet
Says it on both album covers
CMIGYL is written, arranged, and composed
Not produced
