I was VERY surprised by this. I had little to no expectations after all of the controversy, but it was solid. The immersion was excellent.
For those who enjoyed it what was good about it? Trying to motivate myself to go see it.
this was cute but my theater was so quiet i’m kinda annoyed it f***ed the movie up and i don’t want to buy another ticket
@provider they saying Ariana for best supporting. Cynthia also ate i’m afraid.

Honestly I’ve never seen a broadway musical and I don’t know about the plot of Wicked. But the care they placed in the set designs/world building, the performances, the choreography from the extras. It just felt like I was watching a CLASSIC technicolor blockbuster (although the color grading was kinda dull, I will admit). Cynthia Erivo killed it, Ariana Grande was hilarious. Jonathan Bailey was charming af. Go see it, it’s definitely one of the best theatrical blockbusters to be released this year

You want to hear other people sing for a musical movie???
started working at an amc today, did not expect the amount of people dressing up in pink and/or green for this movie
it's not anywhere near Barbie level but it's like 20-30% of the crowd which is still remarkable imo

i’m referring to the theater speakers

This happened to me with zone of interest where the sound design was the most important part, was so upset went to see it again the next week. only problem being zone is a heavy af film so watching it a second time left me haunted
I’d definitely watch this a second time after a bad experience, especially in Dolby or imax if you can.

Do you get to see movies for free
Crazy how this trailer is just a straight up plot summary of the entire movie. I know this is an adaptation of a famous property, and a lot of the target audience already knows the story, but I'm glad I didn't see this trailer before watching the movie, because I'd never seen the musical. Pretty much hits every single beat of the movie, in order.

Anyway, I still enjoyed the movie.
This looks like pure slop. No passion or imagination
Well you were dead wrong
Cynthia Erivo blew me away. Had no interest in this and only saw it bc my lady wanted to. I actually loved it from start to finish— CE deserves her flowers, along with the director and all involved
That all green poster is incredible.
I will say, getting tired of all these "villain ain't that bad actually" batch of retellings
Miss when baddies were bad and that's that
A Gargamel sympathetic backstory might actually send me to the ER
To be fair this book and play started that trend
