What makes them innovative to you and what other newer shoegaze artists do you like?

absolutely not it’s a bunch of kids f***ing around with reverb in their daws but without the songwriting ability of a kevin shields, andy bell or even zach cole smith. fast food music to me personally

It’s literally hardcore and then some songs are slower but there’s not like this wall of sound anywhere on the album. There’s some really dreamy sections of the album but just cuz something sounds floaty doesn’t mean it’s shoegaze.

Its definitely good, any resurgence in genre that makes regional/city scenes brighter or fresher is dope and healthy IMO. Like if it makes it easier for a local band to get booked because the term they use to describe their style is en vogue, thats great. Also it all sounds pretty f***ing nice!

disagree. if you removed all the reverb and production from souvlaki, loveless or nowhere, the song underneath are still amazing. same can’t be said for these tiktok spotify algorithm core shoegaze bedroom pop artists. the mood is a part of the genre but isn’t carried by it
