1. Don't base your financial decisions off others.
2. It depends on your budget.
3. It heavily depends on your career. Buying a house means you are essentially locked into that geographical location jobs-wise. This can be detrimental depending on where you buy your house and where your field is popping.
It's not that buying a house is always better than renting, or vice versa, it heavily depends on your goals and what you're trying to achieve.
Houses are a very big investment that go far beyond just the mortgage and a few extra costs. People don't realize how much they gotta fork over until it's too late. And notice I said investment-- your house can easily tumble in value if you don't pick a good, future-proof area or mistime the market.
Hey people. Look into utilizing FHA LOANS. All u need is 3.5% down to become a homeowner. It really isn't that hard to become a homeowner... if u have the funds ofc.

It's an easy way of building a monopoly. Real s***. Purchase a duplex. Live on one half for a year, rent the other half out. The next year, rent both sides out.. Use that same initial FHA loan and purchase another multifamily home. Go bigger or at least another duplex. U just need the money to purchase & maintain the first one b, you'll never pay for living again. It's easy to be financially free once u get to this basic position

oh ok. that's different than just wanting to own a house though imo that viewpoint is a way better investment

fr man. houses are a dead investment for sure... unless you're flipping or have land to build tbh. I got the concept from Bigger Pockets. It's called House Hacking. It's really beneficial to buy multifamily on an FHA loan.
probably not. the appartment im in is dirtcheap. live with my gf and we pay €400 for rent in total + they come to fix our s*** if something stops working. Probably early 30s if I payed back most of my student loans
If you can afford it yes. Renting isn’t going to acquire wealth, you’re just helping another man get his.

i'll spare you the details but a lot had to happen in order to get that appartment. otherwise similar 2 bedroom appartments are around €900-1000 where I live in the Netherlands.
Respect to all the home owners. I'm a looooooong ways from it but I'll get it one day. Once I decide where to settle down.
Until then ima just be nomadic
