not everybody is gonna be lebron or usain bolt, regardless of how much they try, same way you cant train to be or rap like wayne.its a gift, natural, talent, voice etc. are all factor.

yachti already been punching above his weight class in terms of expectations most had from him when he came into the game. he doing good.

That’s true and I don’t expect him to come with a completely different voice or start spitting triple entendres every other bar but man his flow just ain’t it. He goes off beat and tries to jam words in that don’t work. He still comes off as very amateur sounding

Yeah because he has to fulfill the requirements of making rap music under capitalism which is what Mos Def was saying lol

There’s the art of mastering the art of being a rapper where your music/rapping skills/style works as a tool to revolve a brand around (which is the ceiling most niggas are under and why niggas get confused when you say something sucks) and then there’s the actual art of rapping where we are impressed by the technique/skill level regardless of how much money something will make lol

If one just focused on rapping for a period of time anyone could be Hov or Wayne (or Mos Def lol) level but there’s no fun in that. Niggas ain’t tryna make a “classic” just for it not to be in all the Tik toks and clubs lol

I listened and he’s on beat af. Was gonna say y’all need to get the vision on “offbeat” rapping but he actually was on beat the whole time and there was no point where he jammed too many words in he’s literally just rapping normal

  • How much did they pay you to gas that beat switch OP? Had me listening like “this can’t be it”

He kinda goes off beat in the last like 4 lines of his first verse. Not that off but a little clumsy. And he randomly says “Alejandro” off beat despite most of the flow being an on beat flow in the second verse lol but that’s flow forensics

  • The way his voice sounds on the track is futuristic. I can see the appeal

It's clunky, the beat was really good before the feature spot, all things considered, glad he's pushing himself rap wise after the departure in sound of his last lp

Disagree with this. You can definitely train to be a better rapper and get up to their level. Can't compare rapping to sports because there's not much physicality associated with writing bars. Yachty still younger than hov when he dropped Reasonable Doubt
