Yeah I think I just don't like when he rapping rapping. Songs like Strike and Solo steppin>>>this and that Cole one

his flow on this not much different from solo steppin. but yeah i agree that cole s*** was garbage idk why he was tryna sound like Danny Brown

His flow on solo steppin was more laid back and effortless. On here u can tell he tryna get these bars off and catch the flow of the beat its just not it.

Disagree with this. You can definitely train to be a better rapper and get up to their level. Can't compare rapping to sports because there's not much physicality associated with writing bars. Yachty still younger than hov when he dropped Reasonable Doubt

    no you cant
there is nothing that yachti could do to be able to kill every feature like wayne did for years

his story or upbringing will also never be as interesting as jays or 50s

there is only so much you can train, wayne was able to do it because its easy for him. the moment you have to "'rain' and really put in the extra effort and do more than you are able it comes off as fake

if it was that easy to train or change your voice all rappers would come in with the presence, pronunciation and delivery of drake, the wordplay of wayne or the flow of andre3k

eminem has lost a lot of places in the cultures top rappers because he turned into a try hard, focusing on fast rapping a bunch of bs. nice but doesnt help you if the overall package is lacking

    Lmfao

  • yeah i don’t wanna hear yachty voice over this sample, this was out of his league

  • The Cole feature is so cringe, a solo Cole song like that would be dope

yeah this the most tryhard s*** ever, i can imagine he thought this was hard simply cause he rapping fast & tried to bar up but it’s not effortless at all, this actually kinda embarrassing to think how many other rappers could do sum over this

Yachty's pen out of this world

How does it feel to create a new sentence that has never been said before? In a world where no idea’s original, you’ve still managed to blaze a trail all your own, and that’s quite an accomplishment. Respect king

    probably isnt wrong
there is a ceiling to what someone like yachti can realize in terms of rapping

he aint never gonna be able to spit like wayne or hov

I guess you could say Lil Wayne has no ceilings

I’m generally a yachty fan but not feeling this one

With such an iconic beat you at least have to try to ride it instead of forcing your off beat flow

    You’re mostly wrong here

Wayne is who he is mostly because of a training regimen and insane work ethic

Did he have some talent to begin? Of course

But Wayne was rapping on a commercial level for nearly 10 years before he got good. He put in the work, recording more than literally anyone in recorded music history aside from MAYBE Michael and prince, to get to where he ended up. Bad example

You could argue Wayne on 500 degrees isn’t THAT far ahead of Yachty. Yachty’s generation is just too soft and lazy to actually put that type of work in so they settle for being mediocre and never push themselves. Not saying he’d be Wayne but we’ll never know his true potential because he’s content making content

Are you born with sauce (technical ability) or do you acquire it

Technical ability is mostly a learned skill. Obviously some people are more gifted with language and stuff naturally so it’s some of both but Wayne definitely acquired his sauce by listening to Jay Z and rapping a lot

Wayne’s ascent from 500 Degreez to Sqad Up tapes to Carter 1 to Dedication 1 to Carter 2 was proof of his dedication to his craft

Exactly. Dude couldn’t have picked a worse example for this argument, Wayne is a clear case where hard work beat talent. Wayne wasn’t a prodigy at all he was just a kid with a unique voice at one point.

you’re born with the inclination but mastery is developed through dedication

athletes are the most obvious example of this

Tom Brady’s threw 3 passes his first NFL season and only completed 1

I loved watching Wayne level up but early Wayne was damn near unlistenable

especially alongside Juvie and BG who were so much older and better

Wayne truly wanted to be the best
