Do you mean right before the timeskip?
Regardless, deku is a different person too, the filler episode at the start of the season just did a poor job of capturing that
Also I’m rewatching AOT rn and one thing that stands out is how much eren has stayed the same. He’s always been vengeful and protective it’s just the series shifted where his aggression is placed as he learns the truth of his situation
Whereas people act like deku is this crybaby who never gets s*** done when the series has actually showed time and time again he’s the exact opposite of that so I’m not sure why that perception sticks so much
Yeah, basically when they reach the ocean (at the end of the season) Eren already knows what he needs to do. Basically, when he touches Historia, he learns something that pushes him to stop acting like a loud, angry kid. His character progression is super compelling to me. He basically becomes a villain to most, so he can be a hero to some. I cant comment on MHA cause I dont follow the show (but I know the main character is famously criticized)
season 3 i lost interest, loved season 1 and 2, tried demonslayer and it seems like such melodramatic anime bullshit tbh im losing interest in anime these days
Melodramatic? Niggas whole family getting murked is melodramatic?

Yeah I get that with eren. Again the themes of the shows are so massively different and the execution of the characters follows that. Like cannibalism is literally a primary story element in AoT lmao that’s dark as s***, not everything needs to go there.
Deku hate is a meme at this point tbh. Not saying he’s perfect, no way he’s going to be everyone’s cup of tea but people regurgitate the same s*** about him being soft every week on this site and think it’s a groundbreaking thread worthy opinion
Show completely lost me in S4. Just doesn’t engage me. It’s not the shows fault, I just don’t think its aim is to appeal to people in their 20’s. It’s an all ages show.

Yeah that's fair. At the end of day ppl enjoy different things for different reasons.

Been feeling the same tbh, been dropping every anime I've started after like a couple episodes cause the s*** is so boring or unoriginal I think I need some new weeb friends to rec me some obscure-ish stuff.

Agree on your comment about Eren, I felt like around the 5th episode it seemed like he was a totally different person, but after the season finale, he's definitely still kinda the same.
You better than me. I hopped off after season 2. I just can’t do shonen tropes
already said it in one thread, and people screwed me, they hated the prophecy and the message of it now they suffering the consequences

My hero ain’t going nowhere y’all gon stay sick
Hope you watching something you actually enjoy though
as always please don't judge a series by the anime
always read the manga
MHA > AOT
God worst manga take I've seen in a minute

stopped watching when the climax of the entire season was building up to be a f***ing school talent show
Held on for as long as I could bro but 15 mins into Episode 1 of S5 and this nigga Deku decides to hold back on a knock out blow in a f***ing training session with the big 3 for no real reason other than “Hi, I’m Deku and I’m a b**** ass nigga” and we gotta keep this plot going for another 10 mins dog ssssoooooo I can’t do this no more dude 5 seasons my nigga!!!!!!! 5 seasons bruh and you still on this s***?!?!?!? Like how?!?!?!? It’s a training session bro hahahaha you still on this shy reluctant hero s***?!?!? 4 seasons into AOT and this nigga Eren is a COMPLETELY different person f*** the time skip nigga has actually developed as a character bro it’s beautiful. Everyone in the f***ing show has. Meanwhile, 5 seasons into this s*** and Deku has grown 2 inches taller and is none the f***ing wiser I’m done
not really fair to compare when time flows differently in the two shows and completely different characters
