Now please explain to me what part of that quote says that Kanye West is infallible or that his music is perfect, I'm waiting

Bro it's not a strawman I'm taking what you're saying in the OP to the logical conclusion. Your thesis is "Kanye clearly makes music better than you guys can", no?

I addressed that saying "If you're saying Kanye can do no wrong" (i.e. if Kanye's decisions are always the right ones), given all we've seen him f*** up, then I can't convince you because you're a delusional stan.

Then people show you edits that they (not Kanye!) made, and you admit they're good. You defeat your own arguments.

PS, I hope you realize I quoted your last post because despite your best efforts to say I can't read (the only strawman in these posts, btw) you continue spelling things incorrectly.

I hope you're lying about your age because if you're 25 this is embarrassing.

" If you don't like the album, cool, move onto something else. Don't try to fix it by doing something that the original artist didn't want to be done.

"Fixing" albums, as a concept, is completely embarrassing."

Yes, technically you're allowed to do anything you want. The issue isn't what's allowed and what isn't allowed, the issue is that when you make an edit you're taking an artists work, their intent and everything that went into it and you're telling THEM that they did it wrong was. That's disrespectful and embarrassing. People coming onto online forums proclaiming that they just fixed a song/album, no the f*** you didn't, shut the f*** up. JIK, whether you love it or you hate it, whether you think the mixing is atrocious or not, whether you think songs cut off way too short or not, it doesn't need to be fixed. Kanye chose to release it in the state that it's currently in and only he can decide if it needs fixing or not.

And I'm not saying this as a stan of Kanye, this goes for any artist in any field. Their art is their expression and don't try to change that s***. It doesn't matter how talented you are. Picasso couldn't make a Van Gogh.

So your issue is the word "fix"? Would you prefer if someone said "edit" or "remix"? Do you feel this about all modified works / remixes?

What if it's strictly a technical error, i.e. a misplaced snare. Would a user generated edit without that misplaced snare be a "fix" or an "edit"?

You lack reading comprehension because you got the thesis of my post completely wrong it's more like "you guys think that you can express another human beings thoughts ideas and vision better than they can even though they've had years of training and experience and success doing it"

This is exactly what I'm talking about, this is f***ing trash

"Imagine if this was this and that was that" lmfao so just pretend that everything is ideally as I would like it not the actual music that the artist worked on for months then released

I could see if this was mbdtf and people were talking like this but I think it’s fair to a degree for people to think like this when it’s clear Kanye isn’t putting all of his effort into this. Idc if it’s the final product, use this gospels structure is trash

It's like putting ketchup on food a chef made for you.

Nah it’s more like the chef hears the complaints about the seasoning of his food; so the food gets sent back and another one comes back out. It still isn’t to my taste and is bland as f***. So I season it myself. Nah fam can’t put salt and pepper on a frutti di mare linguini cause the chef wants it this way LOL you clown go back to buzzfeed with this s***.

I'm not sure how you guys know Knaye isn't putting his full effort into this that's the kind of wild speculation I hate

What's wrong with the structure of the song? Other than the transition to Kenny G????

What if it's strictly a technical error, i.e. a misplaced snare. Would a user generated edit without that misplaced snare be a "fix" or an "edit"?

An edit to me is the same as a fix as far as I'm concerned. A remix is different but it comes down to what the intent behind it is. If you just want to make an alternate version of what already exists that's cool, if you're trying to make a better version of what exists, that's not cool.

As far as your hypothetical question goes, I'm inclined to say just leave it alone, maybe it's not misplaced. We don't know, we weren't there. Even as insignificant as one snare is, there could be a reason for it being there, I don't feel comfortable with changing an artists vision in any way.

The fundamental difference in this is that food is made explicitly for consumer whereas music can be personal

I don't get how you have that perspective while being on a Kanye forum, someone who built his legacy on editing songs and using them in his own (sampling). How did you feel about Part II, where he uses another artist's song (Panda)?

I'm not sure your position is logically consistent unless you also write off all edits, remixes and versions other than the very first version of any song recorded

People been remixing albums for decades, if you got something against that I don't think hip hop is your genre dog
