I'm about 2/3rds into book 3 and loving the series. I know book 4 is supposed to be the weakest so I'll see how that goes.
i just got to the Black Gate part where Sam helps Bran get under the wall by talking to the weirwood face/door which only lets nights watch members pass. I can understand why they didn't adapt the talking door into the show since it would have been hard to pull off and maybe cheesy. but it was still cool in the book.

maybe spoiler this bro but yeah, ASOS was one of the best books experiences I had last year, oustanding in every way.
George just made a blog post talking about Casterly Rock.
He says that this drawing is how Casterly Rock is supposed to look.
So it's basically a giant rock that was turned in to a whole castle
He also says Casterly Rock will finally be a location of interest in the books, and he might be hinting at Dany making the trip there
S***'s in the shape of a lion too
this guy TWO more books to go
yea we never seeing his conclusion of this series

we're all just betting on him living to 90 and not getting dementia before then

AFFC definitely takes a different pace from the other 3 books but personally it’s my favourite book, it really opens up the world of ASOIAF

Feast For Crows is my 2nd favorite right behind ASOS
Personally I think it's the best written book of the series. It just has a slow pace
Man, I really wanna get into these but it’s so hard to get motivated knowing there’s a chance they can never be finished

Start reading regardless, grrm’s plotting and characters are peerless
I have absolutely got to finish the books by the time WoW comes out. Still on A Game of Thrones

Nearly finished GoT second read through… it hits so much harder on the reread. All the plotlines grrm teases out.

I believe it smhh. Rn im just comparing it to the show. Pointing out key differences and s***
On AFFC right now. These books are incredible and the show is a travesty compared to them

Still worth the read. George is one of the best writers of the generation

Lol this is exactly where i’m at
I'm getting the feeling that characters are definitely nicer in the show
"whitewashed" is a more proper word
How is that white washing?
Cersei is definitely more sympathetic in the earlier seasons of the show. They do a lot to humanize her that isn't in the books. I think it's one of the better show only moves they made. Tyrion is way more of a comic relief character in the later seasons than he is in the later books. Those are the 2 examples that stand out to me
The hound went out sad
Loved his character, kinda points the hypocrisy of being a knight like Jaime. As much as menacing he was in the show, his brother was even more nightmare-fuel in the books
