Labels should force artists to have to release before a certain amount of time

Ok I see what you’re saying BUT I don’t get it. If an artist says they’re releasing on a certain day and that day comes and they say nothing whatever for a few weeks isn’t that f***ing around with their fans?

Like it’s certainly more to do with professionalism too

put it this way. there’s no legitimate reason we personally deserve as music fans or casuals to be told when an album is going to be released. but we know artists main reason to do so... it’s because they need to generate hype to make profit. the more listeners, the more money.

so if anything, we should be grateful they tell us in advance.

now when they change things around, sometimes it’s out of their control due to label issues, personal life problems etc. even if they do so for artistry reasons, we shouldn’t really make a fuss no matter how frustrating it can be. that’s because it’s art and something the artist should be proud of for him/herself first and foremost before anything else

I have to disagree. These artists (least the ones i support) aren't out here begging anybody to support & listen to them, they make music for themselves & promote/push it for a chance to profit off of it. if you choose to listen/support it's greatly appreciated it but it doesn't warrant any entitlement

nobody in this world owes you s***

  • Oct 19, 2020

Artist dont owe u s*** lmao, they gave u a product which u enjoy and became a fan of, they dont need to stop their lives in order to give u a reup on ur fix, this music s*** is not some subscription services

  • Oct 19, 2020

you don’t want to breach their personal space by asking for a picture. but you do want to breach their privacy by hounding them for music.

Artists dont owe their fans anything

if you don't want to support, then feel free to stop. Artists have gone through way harder tribulations in their life than the made up expectations some internet nerd places on them.

then why become an artist? this the life they signed up for. then they wanna complain about sales/streaming/ and wonder why people not coming to the shows anymore u cant be a d*** to your fans and expect them to still be fans

I could see Drake’s acting comeback in a movie starring alongside Mark Ruffalo where Drake is the long lost younger half black brother

They gotta come together cause the dad just died but there’s tension and they gotta learn to love each other as the story progresses

"Drake is the long lost younger half black brother"

idk why this made me laugh

  • They dont but neither do the fans. They dont owe us music and we dont owe them streams so tell your fav to stop crying when his s*** gets leaked

how many artists have actually experienced a drastic loss in sales/streaming/concert turnouts because of their unprofessionalism in delivering product?

Artists don’t owe fans anything if you don’t make music it means you’re losing and if you’re losing it means you’re not winning if you’re not winning it means you have a boss and if you have a boss it means you’re not a superhero and if you’re not a superhero it means you’re a lame and if you’re a lame it means you’re broke and if you’re broke it means you’re controlled and if you’re controlled it means you don’t play guitar or dye your hair or are verified or are indie it means you’re not alternative it means you don’t appear on playlists it means you don’t have a mixtape it means you’re not a coming of age story it means you aren’t an indie rock artist it means you don’t use these lyrics as therapy as guidance in finding new ways to cope with situations

This lie needs to stop. When it comes to their time and personal life (for example, being angry about an artist not wanting to take pictures with someone) then this saying is correct.

When it comes to music I believe this to be complete bullshit. If an artist is taking the piss with music releases or not even communicating with fans about it then they shouldn’t be defended. I know certain stans will defend an artist saying “they don’t owe you anything” but if not for the people who pay for the music, merchandise, tours and spend a hell of a lot of money then what is the point?

There are artists that don’t release things for years but they don’t keep their fans in the dark.

I just think stannery goes too far sometimes. Maybe it’s a bad take from me but fair you’re entitled to your opinions.

eh. if anything the artist is kinda doing fans a favor by touring. you have any idea how exhausting that s*** is? the stress of touring is probably what drives many artists into d****. the fans and the money are the only reason any artist would tour, and it's evident by artists like Frank Ocean refusing to tour bc he doesn't need the money & doesn't wanna do that s***.

? Are you talking about me lmao

Nah I was just bein silly tbh

  • artist's lives wouldn't be as luxurious as there are without people supporting them for sure, but they aren't required to break their backs for you. You're free to withdraw your support for them at any given time, they'll latch on if enough people do so. Talk with your feet

  • Oct 19, 2020

    crine shut up

if it pisses you off so much then dont support the ones that move like that, stop trying to push your bitterness on everyone else

  • Oct 19, 2020

    they owe me their life

  • Oct 19, 2020

Nope. You need them as much as if not more than they need you

    Agreed

  • Oct 19, 2020

I somewhat agree but I think the fans should be more sympathetic towards the pressure of releasing art to be picked apart by the world and the process difficulty
