You know how many times I’ve said I was gonna do something and I never did. way too many

Yeah but this wouldn’t fly in your professional career. You won’t promise a client something on an agreed deadline and then ghost them on the day.

artists don't make money just because their fans are breathing

as a fan you get something in return for your money, whether it's a concert, merchandise, freshly released album or whatever

so as long as you don't give money to them for something in particular and are awaiting that something they don't owe you s***

I have to disagree. These artists (least the ones i support) aren't out here begging anybody to support & listen to them, they make music for themselves & promote/push it for a chance to profit off of it. if you choose to listen/support it's greatly appreciated it but it doesn't warrant any entitlement

  • Nov 1, 2020
    gesufaleg

And? Why would you take the piss with people paying for it?

Not saying it happens often but if you mess around with your main supporters why’d they be inclined to support you? lol

It's people's choice to support it or not. An artist doesn't have to do s*** - they logically would want to, so they communicate with their fanbase, promote their s*** etc. so they can get money but fans shouldn't feel entitled. It was their choice to support it and they don't have to if they don't want to. Artists don't owe fans anything.

Artists don’t sign contracts with fans tho. Being an artist way different than having a job

i did and you literally said as a fan you get something in return for your money

Getting something in return for spending money is like the definition of being owed something lmaoo

without us there are no record labels or deals or touring or anything

artists owe their success to their fans

artists dont owe us in the sense that Kendrick HAS to drop another album or hes being a d*** to his fans. They owe us in the sense that we made them who they are

Once you get to Carti levels and toy with your fans you for sure owe your fans an album

does carti owe WLR to any fan out there? no because none of them payed for that album yet
does he owe it to them simply because they're supporting him with no money involved? no because as a fan you're supporting/following an artist willingly

if you toy with your fans about dropping music you owe it to them to just be a decent human being and drop it

Fans literally make artists and stringing along the people that made you have money in the first place is foul

it's definitely annoying ass behavior if you toy with your fans

though that just means the artist is a non-decent human being who still doesn't owe them anything

you still not explaining why they do? this thread is a disappointment

Because you’re spending money on them

They aren’t making money by people NOT buying their stuff

If I’m spending money on an artist buying things repeatedly and they tease a new album but they don’t drop anything on the date they said or they release some trash clothes then they are literally f***ing about with their fans and only using their fans for the monry

This lie needs to stop. When it comes to their time and personal life (for example, being angry about an artist not wanting to take pictures with someone) then this saying is correct.

When it comes to music I believe this to be complete bullshit. If an artist is taking the piss with music releases or not even communicating with fans about it then they shouldn’t be defended. I know certain stans will defend an artist saying “they don’t owe you anything” but if not for the people who pay for the music, merchandise, tours and spend a hell of a lot of money then what is the point?

There are artists that don’t release things for years but they don’t keep their fans in the dark.

I just think stannery goes too far sometimes. Maybe it’s a bad take from me but fair you’re entitled to your opinions.
