Any suggestions on real books for someone who's been into manga more?

Big fan of Berserk, Vagabond, Blue Lock, Demon Slayer, and Yowamushi Pedal.

Murakami's What I Talk About When I Talk About Running was a recent memoir I enjoyed reading, but not sure if that's the style I want to continue

pick up Musashi. haven’t read it myself, but it’s essentially the source material for Vagabond and i’ve heard nothing but great things about it

it's a big one! I read that a few years back. definitely worth the time but I don't know if it was the best Sanderson book to start with.

  • just finished Schoolgirl, incredibly beautiful and potent

  • Been reading N.K Jemisin’s Broken Earth trilogy. About to start The Stone Sky. Been pretty good. I get heavy Evangelion vibes from the series, especially in the second book. Eager to see how the author wraps this up.

    Just finished Murakmai’s After Dark

When i get on to my next Murakami, what would you suggest i go for?

Ive also read Norwegian Wood and Kafka by the Shore from him. Out of the three i think Kafka was my least favourite

Finally reading Dune and i love it.

All the deep political, religious, and existential concepts in a cool sci-fi form just turns me on (⏸️)

Getting ahead of myself but does anyone know if Hyperion (Dan Simmons) is similar or have similar suggestions?

I only watched Dune but I think Hyperion share sum very similar elements (in a different flavour tho) that you could appreciate. Reading it rn and I'm hooked.

Hyperion is super dope, very very good book and very enjoyable /satifsfying read as a stand-alone but the 4 books are supposedly really good as a set
