    Synopsis

A public option is not half of universal health care, nothing I'm seeing shows him to have any semblance of how serious the climate crisis is. Idc about task forces either lol. That's performative bs. 15$ is cool or whatever. Should be higher but it's not like Biden started t that campaign so I'm not faulting him for it

Agree to disagree on the public option, it would drastically reduce the number of uninsured people in the US, and any healthcare plan is already going to have to get Manchin, King, Donnelly onboard unless the Dems sweep the senate somehow.

Biden's already been working on expanding his climate plan after adding AOC and that person from Sunrise to the committee, but his plan's already a good start (2T over 10 years) and it's already a lot better than putting actual coal executives as head of the EPA lmao

Ok, well of course thats a broad thing, and any fix is likely to require multiple administrations sustaining the same courses of action.

But in terms of some policies that should have a positive effect that have been pledged there are:

    • Doubling the minimum wage
    • Formulating a new Homeowner and Renter Bill of Rights, aim to protect from abusive landlords
    • Ending redlining (Again a huge deal)
    • Raising taxes on the wealthy + corporatations, and capping their tax deductions
    • Capital Gains Tax, and taxes on foreign profits (evening the playing field in the long term)
    • make healthcare a right for all and ban surprise billing
    • Investing in unions
    • Investing in public defenders offices
    • Expunging weed convictions

Sound decent? More positive than Trump?

You know what, I like you.

Yea tbh I’m an independent I just viewed them as the same. Most of the time politicians don’t follow through on their promises to help our communities

Speaking on expunging weed convictions, what’s Biden got planned to fix the justice system?

True, they don't always follow through, but often that's not their fault entirely, there is a lot of push and pull and unfortunately sometimes it just don't work out as intended. But in terms of taking the right first steps, this is it. It might seem minuscule, or empty, but the alternative is beyond destructive.

    On justice:

    • End mandatory minimum sentences
    • End capital punishment
    • End cash bail
    • End federal private prisons (Huge one)
    • Decriminalize weed, expunge those records, and free any current offenders
    • End incarceration for d*** offences altogether in favour of d*** courts and rehab
    • Address systematic misconduct in police through the power of the DoJ
    • Reform qualified immunity
    • Ban chokeholds
    • Launch a national police oversight commission within his first 100 days
    • Stop the supply of weapons of war to the police

You realize how stupid some of these are right? Private prisons is one ppl latch onto cuz it's an easy target but just removing them.does nothing. Chokeholds been banned in many areas too. Didnt stop eric garner from dying. Also hes not for defunding and from what I've seen wants to give 300 mil.more to police

I would agree, but since the other candidate is actively working to dismantle all the incremental climate gains we've gotten over the last 20 years, I'll take 2T.

And if it matters, they're supposed to be releasing an expanded plan in the coming weeks

    dat guy

    Michele Obama
    Queen

Just purely from a strategic standpoint, she would be the best option by a landslide.

However, there's no way I see her accepting it imo.

Biden also wants to reduce solitary confinement (should be nearly eliminated, but it's a start), end cash bail and private prisons, and repeal mandatory minimums but they won't tell you about that

He doesn’t even believe in f***ing legalized marijuana

Get the fuxk outta here with this bootlicker s*** man

"Trump wins otherwise" isn't a valid reason?

ok this is how people tried to coerce folks into voting in 2016 yet he still won so no not actually a valid reason to many people

In hindsight, ADDING money and officers to the police force looks like complete s***

Making an effort to combat (no pun intended) domestic violence, including crimes against children as well, is some of the more redeeming s*** but

removing the education opportunities for inmates is so f***ing backwards
WHILE ADDING money to prison industry is f***ing backwards

This is a 26 year old bill though, and people change and grow from certain points in their lives, hopefully.

Its easy 2 be cynical, and def the crime bill is a s***show in hindsight, esp with the increased scrutiny with which its being exposed and a***yzing for how it disproportionately affects black men and other people who are discriminated heavily by the "justice system"

hilarious to see media and liberals attack Trump for years for sexual harassment and rape allegations and now sweep it under a rug and dismiss the allegations on Biden. They quiet on Kamala Harris's bootlicker tendencies as well but loved to talk about Pence's past with promoting gay conversion therapy.

Mainstream media same s*** as Fox News. All fake

sounds like a whole lotta nothing lol. None of this is going to stop police from oppressing and racially profiling.

It’s greatest opposition was from Republicans who didn’t think it went far enough.
