Dc rebirth got me excited Been In the worse depressive slump of my life and that single-handedly killed all my aspirations for anything creative but maybe comics can send a spark of some sort. Making comics sound hella cool man. Voice acting and all that would love to see the step into that process sucks that I’m not a good writer. Also what about stuff like three jokers, year one and the other Batman stuff well that mess up my reading order also curious about the other robins and batgirls too
Bruh, you gotta read this:
readallcomics.com/all-star-superman-001-special-edition-2013
It’ll def lift your spirits and make you feel better, man.
As far as three jokers and all that goes, that specific story line actually begins near the end of Geoff John’s New 52 Justice League run. So you may wanna read all of that to have the context for it before jumping in
This grant Morrison run so confusing how they set it up lmao surprised there’s no redhood on this list either
at least they put the "if you only read these you'll be fine" part

Ah okay so before I hop into any Batman stuff it’s def the move to start with new 52 first? Also I never was a huuge superman fan only because of the toons I seen I thought he was like an OP mess but this story seems hella interesting like they humanize him def Saving this. Also while reading new 52 and that leads me to rebirth will that get me into the red hood/red x stuff and should I keep an eye out for this “infinite/ final crisis thing?”

The way the colors overlap each other tho omg the person making this had to be losing their mind
Now I just need me a list for modern dc from the starting point then the old essentials to really understand along with some great standalone stories. Same for marvel. Then I can get into the indie stuff
some nice recent-ish indie stuff you might like
charles burns - black hole
mat brinkman - multiforce
cf - powr mastrs
yuichi yokoyama (everything)
secret comics japan
comics underground japan
DC been killing it with their recent 12 issue maxi series’, and they’ve been pretty self contained and accessible for the most part. Marvel has had a few too
I love them, I just don't like that they'll all depressing.

Yeah start with Snyder’s Batman run.
I was the same way when it came to Supes. Thought he was lame and just OP, but Tomasi’s Superman Rebirth run changed my entire outlook on him ngl. When the right writer is on the book, Supes is much more than just some invincible OP mf haha. All-Star Superman will show you some of that too.
i havent read a new marvel comic since 2015 lol secret wars was the literal end of marvel for me
Garbage event, just awful

You ain’t lyin lol. Now that I think about it, they’ve all been pretty f***in dark

Is that a standalone series I'm not gonna lie I'm a sucker for dark content tbh

Yup stand-alone for the most part. If you want dark go read The Vision by Tom King lol

Morrison’s run is broken into 3 parts really Batman, Batman and robin/return of Bruce Wayne, and Batman incorporated you should probably read final crisis too since it really impacts Batman’s character and the rest of Morrison’s run on him it’s def the best batman run highly recommend

Is final crisis like the starting point before his run? Also what's the difference between him and Snyder's run
hickman getting kicked off xmen before he got to finish his 3 year story
This so wack right before I was about to start house of x

Nah final crisis is right after his run on the Batman title and they’re pretty similar but other than court of owls I didn’t really like Snyder’s run that much it’s a good starting point though

Ah okay so when I'm done with Morrison I can go right to final crisis?
hickman getting kicked off xmen before he got to finish his 3 year story
Did he really get kicked off? When he first launched, he said straight up that he wasn’t gonna be on the X-Men book for hella long. Plus he got that new x-title book called Inferno that’s supposed to have big ramifications to the story and follow up on the Moira stuff.

Def still start it lol. Hickman ain’t gone

Bet bet I hear its one of the best entry points to x men and set out great series after that. I wanna know about that Messiah complex and x force tho especially x force

he said hes leaving because he was ready to move into act 2 and everybody else writing the other books didnt want to move on yet so hes leaving to write bigger event stories for marvel
he probably gonna do some cool s*** for marvel still but this a letdown regardless
