Nov 14, 2021Keep in mind that most videos that make it on the YouTube front-page these days, if it's not a music video or some leftover clips from TV, it'll be a video that was uploaded in 2016 that just recently started gaining traction out of nowhere.
A lot of people I subscribe to will start to gain views after a particular video of theirs will get posted on Reddit, like Yhara Zayd for example:
Those are the only two ways I've seen a YouTuber pop these days.

Be a person and a user first, don't try to sell to people. Even I will scroll past anything that seems to selly or marketed. Make it a way for fans to extend their relationship with you. Like it should be about you first and music second

The thumbnails don't grab me. Titles long and make no sense to someone like me who isn't your target audience.
The green screen thing kinda trash also. Audio not great.
I think it's a quality thing rather than a race thing at the moment. Get the quality up and then let's see

IMO the cuts are a little too frantic, when it goes from one size to another and sometimes there's a picture or scene going on its very hard to concentrate on whatever you're talking about and almost becomes background chatter. Especially if you're in the frame while a clip is playing, like where should I be concentrating?
Having your face in there is fine but you gotta stop editing it so often. The aesthetic you're going for is already pretty jarring, I don't need you going from just the corner to the whole frame so often, for example between 9 to 10 mins in the Halloween video you switch it up like four times.
I think you might just need to let some scenes play out and make sure it's directly correlated to the point you're making. Your point about Mike doing the same thing for 40 years could've been made more effective by actually just showing that.
I feel and get this critiques but I can show you two other youtubers who do a similar aesthetic that's why I'm like I'm not completely off center or not creating a completely new type of youtube content:

The thing is the actual content of the videos are top quality but i think youtube is all about first impressions. Not many people are committing to watching a video longer than 10 mins unless they know it's gonna be worth it. We got low attention spans.
I get the thumbnail thing. Ain't noone original with their thumbnails these days. I dunno though maybe it doesn't work while you're following isn't huge.

Imma keep it 100 I’ve only ever used Reddit for p***, and stealing s***, there ain’t a subreddit you can just post videos you fw and wanna show other people ?
No because it would become filled with self promotion. So what ends up happening is that to combat this they end up banning and blocking self promo so any sub for finding youtube videos pretty much is only content with a pre-existing view count.
Inversely you end up getting sent to a "self promo" type of space where most people just dump their s*** and go not actively watching, nor are they spaces with any kind of quality content. Like all shade here my s*** doesn't belong with the type of BS you see on something like /r/SmallYTChannel/
The only way I could do it is to get friends or followers to do it via various other accounts but only maybe once or twice as to not get caught but the stick up their ass self righteous reddit mods. The site actively discourages user made content unless it's a space made exclusively for use designed content
