  • it really depends. if a shorter album means instead of 3 forgettable songs i get 1 great one that i can't stop listening to, then sure - a shorter one. if i get more of those great songs on a longer album than a shorter one - im picking the longer one, even if it has skippable tracks. i can always make my perfect drake album by picking out songs and putting them on a custom playlist. all i want is good music to listen to at the end of the day. i also really love that drake experiments with styles because they most of the time turn out to be my favorites, so if a longer project allows him to be more diverse, that's a plus.

That being said, what I personally want is the 10-12 song rap album. Make just one measly album or mixtape that is geared towards the art and not the numbers.

And then you can return to the hits.

its not that simple, let's say he does that. All of his fans that aren't his core fans , are going to say he fell off.

    40 for sure
Drake should at least have ONE short length classic album and the rest catered to his casual fans

    dawg

lmao that drake part is what hurt him with views. Too many styles that didn't really gel together and wasn't cohesive at all

Views has some of his highest highs but also some of his lowest lows, some tracks are awful compared to the rest of his discog

The fact that drake thinks that he should just repeatedly make the same songs based on the 5 lanes he’s good in is why I don’t f*** with his music like I used to. Even though the single was awesome and I am excited for the album.

Each album should be a new creation. A new idea. He has the talent to be THAT kind of artist. He came in the game with a genre changing mixtape.

However he’s part of the big machine now and he has to produce numbers in order to use the leverage he has for his lucrative deals. It’s all about money at the end of the day, and to a lesser degree about placating all his fans.

u just mentioned him being proficient in 5 different styles so casually

NWTS was perfect length for a Drake classic

Facts the way his versatility gets taken for granted like this is a shame

  • the man has given us a zillion songs. even tho i don't think he misses often, yeah it's time to start refining.

12-14 tracks is more realistic, but if 40 can get him down to 10 i'm all for it. i'd love to see how it turns out.

40 had a point. The albums would be better received if they were shorter.

But Drake also has a point, in which he has a lot of styles and there's a lot of different types of Drake fans who want different things.

Overall I think he should just drop a 10 track project. One entirely rap focused. And then the same but RnB focused. He'll alienate some fans, but f*** it.

Don't move this. Made in Drake sxn at first but I want variety in responses

Or he can just create the perfect mixture of both like NWTS????

  • Oct 16, 2020

IYRT was almost 70 minutes and 18 tracks. BUT it was one style, and something Drake and his collaborators are actually good at. The problem is his genre ambitions aren't matched by his talents.

  • Oct 16, 2020

best would be like 12-14 tracks on streaming and add 2-3 bonus cuts on physicals

Just make really short albums, then make another one with a different style
drakes too afraid of not pleasing everyone at once. Same reason he walked off at flog gnaw

A 15 track Drake album would be perfect.

  • drake already admitted in rap radar that he wouldn't do that again. he def doesn't want 25 tracks. i bet they meet in the middle at 16-17

ppl forgettin take care was 20 lmao

I also acknowledged he’s THAT level of artist. One of the goats no doubt.

Also I’m not a fan of all 5. Dancehall, British, generic trap. I pretend those songs don’t exist

  • Oct 16, 2020

I’m still waiting for the R&B album

  • Oct 16, 2020

40 , give me 10-12 well crafted classic songs and I’m good

This post reminded me of that garbage transition of One Dance to Grammys on Views

  • Oct 16, 2020

Need at least 12 new songs, fun an all to have a ‘no skip’ album, but only people that really care about that s*** are critics. Nobody listens to albums in full anymore anyway. I don’t really care about 20+ tracks as long as they are all of good quality.

  • Oct 16, 2020

    Definitely 40.
    NWTS still Drake's best.

  • Oct 16, 2020

Drake better not ever give me a 10 track album. I want 16-18 track albums.

  • Oct 16, 2020

no bc drake does too many things and i love all of them
