I don’t think most people like or respect him as a person anymore, tbh.
It’s harder to see, because it doesn’t manifest in streams or their absence, but I feel like the only time I ever hear someone mention him anymore is in a negative light.
Whether or not that will affect his next album’s performance has yet to be seen.
Yea I know a lot of people irl who’ll still like a few Drake songs but say they don’t like him as a person or align morally
drake is a popstar. do rappers now
Didn't Billboard just crown Kendrick Popstar of the year?
Next year is gonna be one of the most important years of his career.
Next couple of moves really are determine how things go for him
Me personally I would prolly take the year off.
Make ppl miss me. But we all know he ain't gonna do that. I wonder how is he gonna attack?
That party album better be thriller
I think ther is something behind the scenes . Like a drake ktt discord wher they @ everyone when theres a new thread ? If thats possible, i bad at discord .
I think this is true the other way around. All these bait threads get created and it’s always the same people in the first page engaging in it lol
Nah that's over. He should be commended for maintaining that status into his late 30s, many others faded long before that
Dude gonna enter his jay z/eminem legacy act era in next couple years
Old takes exposed gonna hit different next year
No
He will still be very successful, he’s not gonna fade into obscurity.
But he’ll exist in that Em sphere from now on. Still putting up respectable numbers for an artist 20 years in, but nobody is really ranking them as the #1 guy anymore
Putting up #1 numbers in the genre is more than “respectable” numbers
Unless he straight up stops dropping on DSPs or some s*** it ain’t gonna happen lol
So you telling me if drake drop a new album he’s gonna sell a lot? because this s*** means nothing just old ass music getting plays nigga moving like a legacy act at this point
Can you name another legacy act garnering these numbers?

Well ya boy out here suing the biggest DSP in the world.
Surely that is gonna affect future stream numbers.
Is him doing that really out of the realm of possibility?
What is a lot to you? Was 294K after a 5 year comeback for Kendrick a lot?
You didn’t answer my question, remember drake is the biggest rapper In the world right if his next album doesn’t do “Drake” numbers which is in the 450k and up first week is he done?
Kendrick isn’t a pop artist he made a personal album which still did great numbers this not about him tho this is about Drake
So you telling me if drake drop a new album he’s gonna sell a lot? because this s*** means nothing just old ass music getting plays nigga moving like a legacy act at this point
laughable argument.

Most people who don't never did
So what exactly is changing

I can't answer the question when I don't know what ''a lot'' means for you. I need to understand that before I can give you an answer. Was 294K for Kendrick after 5 years of wait a lot?

Maybe its both

Yes that was a lot for a more personal album he does what he wants musically he didn’t have to call sza and sexy redd and make a song like rich baby daddy chasing hit records last time drake tried to actually experiment with his sound he sold less than Mr morale first week we didn’t forget
Old takes exposed gonna hit different next year
Even eminem turned into legacy act. Still does numbers and s***,mark my words that's what's awaiting drake he about to turn the big 4-0
And now he got spotify and the machine that been inflating his numbers all along mad
Next year is gonna be one of the most important years of his career.
Next couple of moves really are determine how things go for him
Me personally I would prolly take the year off.
Make ppl miss me. But we all know he ain't gonna do that. I wonder how is he gonna attack?
That party album better be thriller
drake could stop now for good and there wouldn't be anyone who could rival his influence and impact
I mean who would it be? Trav?
Weeknd is massive but is not a rapper

Drake, one of the best selling artists in the history and the most streamed rapper in the world in 2024 needed Sexy Redd, the artist who sold 27K first week a few months ago?
What's your next cope and excuse?

For people who listen to his “rap” music yes he does don’t play stupid sexy got the clubs lit in America especially with woman like she didn’t drop banger after banger you lame ass ovo niggas see nothing outside of drake
Putting up #1 numbers in the genre is more than “respectable” numbers

It’s the streaming era dawg. Drake still being #1 is carryover from him being the #1 rapper of the 2010s by a landslide (and also a symptom of the genre being in the gutter in the mainstream all 2020s)
Think about it this way, if streaming had becoming commonplace in, say, 2005, Eminem would’ve been #1 in total streams every year up until like 2014/2015. That wouldn’t mean he was still the #1 guy in those later years
Bro y'all gotta realize the drake formula is just dated at this point. People don't want the same style of catchy song in the tiktok era. Plus music artists are just not as big. No modern day pop star is near Taylor Swift levels
