He burned up pretty much all of his goodwill this year. If he phones in another album then yeah I think we’re seeing the twilight of his superpowers

Didn't Billboard just crown Kendrick Popstar of the year?

what does kendrick have to do with what I said?

  • Dec 23, 2024

Nah. His back catalogue might carry him but he’s been on an artistic decline for a long time

He’s exactly where Ye was after TLOP. Let’s see if he surprises us with a much needed gem.

Internet will make you think so but at the same time he’s the most streamed so idk wtf going on. Hope he can shift over to Warner and drop from there. But regardless we’ve never seen a run like this before and most likely will never see it again. Unfortunately idk who would carry the torch aside from him. Puts rap in a scary spot

Drake is in legacy artist territory now

His reputation in rap is cooked and his pop stardom is slowly fading

His best bet is drop that R&B album with PND and call it a career

Just realized too. He is at the age where he is suppose to be building more artist up.

Jay-Z was in suit and ties and being CEO of Def Jam even at a younger age than were Drake is now. Ye had GOOD music. Wayne had YMCMB.

His selfishness is coming back to bite him. Seems like the game is literally forcing him to grow up.

He don't even need to call it a career but time to be a Grown man and move on to the next phase of his career.

Yall playing Build-A-Career with Drake won't make him do any of these things

he will do that and then be angry at The Weeknd because he saw the play before it developed with trying to get him to sign to OVO

Him looking crazy to you won't make him do what you think he should

If he listened to the public he probably would've killed himself by now

Everybody wants Drake to represent what they want from his career

Let him do him and critique accordingly

  • Dec 23, 2024

Nobody is looking to Drake to shift the culture with his contributions anymore and that will never be the case again. He’ll do numbers forever though.

    Hurry Up Fader

    No

He will still be very successful, he’s not gonna fade into obscurity.

But he’ll exist in that Em sphere from now on. Still putting up respectable numbers for an artist 20 years in, but nobody is really ranking them as the #1 guy anymore

That is wrong. The only reason em is not in the best category it’s because he doesn’t do relevant music for this new audience.
Drake only has to do music that ahead or current and he will still be among the greats.

    serenade

maybe if he reframes the entire 2022-2024 era as him being in the throes of addiction and depression, ala eminem's 2004-2007 period, and makes positive changes for himself that are reflected in his music.

i think a lot of people would like a drake redemption arc, i'm just not sure if he has one in him.

    Stake wouldnt allow this

Nah. That s*** was clipped the moment he ran to lawyers. Nigga is way too corny for that and it's viewed as an extremely wack move. On top of that, I highly doubt his label and Spotify are gonna prop him up the same as they used to after he's tried suing them, blowing up their spot.

    Drake lost.

    Says a guy from internet.
Act as if you won’t listen to drake album as soon as he drops
