Enjoying WFH especially since Microsoft Teams/Skype/Zoom fill that void of personal interaction. I’m ok with going into the office if necessary but of course the workplace mentality is stuck in the 1950s
it’s pretty niche bro. i’d say only go for it if it’s something you have a passion about. you’d have to either go via university and get a degree to be taken on as a graduate, or in europe they have apprenticeship schemes. not sure where you are from, but if US, your best bet is doing a degree.
obviously you don’t want to waste time in doing a degree for something that you don’t enjoy, but have a look around at different jobs that provide office based work - lawyers, engineers, HR/Admin, accountancy, etc and see what qualifications are required. majority will say masters or bachelors degree
heads up: working for a corporate company is extremely overrated from my experience - be careful what you wish for. slaving for another person 9-5 takes it’s toll
Web a***ytics/consulting/project management
dope. part time is the way - was looking at some positions part time the other day because i’m getting fed up of 9-5 full time. glad you’re doing that. quality of life is way more important and I think many have come to that realisation over the last year.
Ummm not really, but I would expect that most jobs would require one anyhow. You can get certs & s*** though.
There is absolutely no reason to return to the office if you’re working from home. I saw a study that stated that overall workplace productivity in Canada has risen amongst companies that transitioned from in-Office to remote work.
They are being affected & reports have found people WFH are less likely to receive raises
That doesn’t have to do with productivity though
so just none of you get stir crazy huh
you don't go out?
WFH has been a blessing
so just none of you get stir crazy huh
I go on walks, meet friends for lunch & sometimes work from a bar nearby.
Really? I enjoy both so I go in some days and work from home on others. Only working from home would be a little depressing ngl
Wait till the Work For Self movement gets cracking
Then it’s really going to get interesting
Lets compromise
Have a hybrid method
3 days in office
2 days at home
best both of worlds
Half of my office started looking for other jobs as soon as we found out coming in the office is going to be mandatory. There's going to be a massive issue if my employer doesn't let people work from home at least one day a week, I already left as soon as they said everyone has to go back to the office
Managers are mad they can't micro manage from WFH.
They need to get with the program and offer hybrid schedules or people will leave for companies that do offer it.
