Encore was a step down from the first 3 albums, there’s no denying that. But honestly, aside from certain songs, it’s really not awful. Sure, he goes too far with the fart puke noises which ruin certain songs like My First Single and Puke, but there’s some great chunes on here

If you turn your brain off and forget his past catalog, it’s a fun album to listen to if you’re high as s*** and honestly, this era was his lyrical peak. His story telling and trollery was elevated immensely.

I get it tho. If this kind of humor isn’t your thing, this album is garbage to you. And if you were expecting TES 2 on here then i think you have your expectations too high. And honestly if people can go to bat for tryhard garbage like Relapse, ima go to bat for Encore

I unironically like this album. I get the hate but to me it’s got some great emotional and political tracks and the silly tracks are genuinely funny to me even 20 years later. I even have it on vinyl. I always loved the cover, art direction and general concept of him doing a final show and ending it by shooting the audience then himself. I’ll defend this and Relapse too. I think Recovery is decent but thats when he really went pop and started to go downhill.

Album is very mixed.

Half of it literally sounds like a parody of Eminem and aged like milk while the other half has strong songs with deep messages.

"Encore" had more good songs on it than bad songs, but the bad songs on it were REALLY bad, and that's what brought the quality of the album way down.

If some of the weaker tracks were replaced with songs like "We As Americans", "Love You More" and even "Ricky Ticky Toc", the album would've been a worthy follow up to "The Eminem Show".
