mr get doughBut why? Nas handles the idea of transitioning from a teen to an adult beautifully all over this album that genuinely is a great pick for best coming of age
For sure, stuff like World is Yours and One Love are really good examples of that but I feel like the best songs on PH resonates with my gen way more
The way Nas approaches it isn’t worse I just think it’s less relateable

Inherently no because the conventions of “coming of age” aren’t tied to white culture, ie how a lot of hiphop conventions are tied to black culture. Not even the conventions established through those white coming of age stories are tied to whiteness
Tho culturally it is, but the whiteness of coming of age is purely surface level and is just what we’re used to seeing
