At the end of the day music is like the nba. Only the 1% are going to make it, get your degree or learn a trade fam
Don't know how anyone on a music forum can believe making music isn't "a real job"
I'm just here for the circus

How is this relevant, her shows were sold out. The point is even if you’re popular enough to sell every seat you’re still touring at a loss

Nah I'm 100% right and more coherent than your 20 lines about some conspiracy theory you have in your head. If you can't turn a profit then you shouldn't do it as a profession. It's something your parent would tell you at age 16.

The point is even if artists sell out their tour they tour at a loss, are you stupid?

No it doesn’t lol the point is artists aren’t being paid enough, not that it shouldn’t be their profession
If artists are selling out shows that means people want their entertainment, obviously the system should work in a way where artists that people want to see can make enough to have the job that is the f***ing entertainment people want

Maybe don’t click on these threads and bring the discussion down to idiotic nonsense

It's not. You can't make money then it can't be a job. That simple.
I replied to a similar question with: “scorched earth “ but lemme elaborate lol
I mentioned in other threads but lately i been reading into anarchist thought/theory (im not well read on it so no assumptions. I’m waiting til I know more before I start making bold claims on s***) and honestly, this entire system especially as far as music industry goes was always just…rotten from the ground up.
More artists relatively had a chance decades ago but (if you had tv1 and had unsung) you still had artists fall beneath the cracks even back then. And label heads lowkey had more power back then even on a psychological level (why I’d kill Berry Gordy with my bare hands f\*\*\* em)
Even all the minor alternative plans that musicians have tried to cook up all fall flat cause they still have to subscribe to some sort of capitalist process (which imo has been the same process that has done so much damage to art in general)
I feel the only real solution to all of this is essentially a hard reset. But not just for the music industry but for society as we currently see it cause a lot of industries (we seen with these strikes) are reaching the tipping point.
The way we living just isn’t sustainable. I saw madison mcferrin make an ig post about a real life scary and tiring situation involving merch shipment that…i just dont know why there’s no mental care put in for artists. I know people personally that have been on tours with superstars that had panic attacks and breakdowns cause of all the pressure.
I think whatever happens this decade will determine a lot of how humanity in all facets of life (and the industries they participate in) will push forward.
