Timberlake sold his for $100M
well he doesn't have as much leverage as much as Beiber does due to his hits being from a previous generation
easy to grow and profit when you underpaying artists c'mon cli don't you work in business?
That’s the point of the image. Someone is making the money. It’s just not the artist. Which is why these firms makes these plays because they can negotiate better rates than an artist can.
Saw an estimate that his 8.4M monthly listeners would generate ~330k/month at 0.004 cents per stream or w/e. But that's before it's split up, to @insertcoolnamehere point
And thats gettting split between the label, the producer, and the writer. The label is taking majority of it by themselves.
Fans don’t really know what catalogs are worth. It’s not worth $500M just because you think it is.
Getting $200M already would mark him amongst the biggest deals ever. He wasn’t gonna see $200M off his percentage. People with 5-6 decades or work aren’t selling for much higher unless you’re a Bob Dylan or Springsteen
Dylan sold his for 200M as well though, right?
Look at that growth for a company like Apple that doesn’t even do music lol. Imagine a decade from now.
More and more revenue as they pay less and less
well he doesn't have as much leverage as much as Beiber does due to his hits being from a previous generation
Finance companies and their recency bias

🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ the ARTIST arent making anywhere near that. The CEOs are making all that money. Are you serious rn
And that growth isnt sustainable
For a dude like Bieber who is probably worth something in the excess of 300M's (im guessing i have no idea), getting 200M upfront is nuts lol

this
i think a lot of people don’t realize how much these artists actually own of their music
record deals and pub contracts put you at a disadvantage at a lot of times, then you add the fact that they aren’t writing or producing most of it. these numbers are not as crazy as you think
but interesting to see how some are selling their s*** for millions and some artists are buying their masters back for millions
idk if u really care about your music I think you would buy and not sell
I really feel like if more people were aware how much artists make from a stream we would have more awareness and a bigger movement of ending streaming.
niggas make a FRACTION of a PENNY from a stream dawg.
too far gone for streaming to end
you're posting everything as facts which is literally not. I just brought to you the notion of percentages within said pay out. Just because a single is making that much doesn't mean Justin gets 100% of all of that. Hell he probably taking less than 40% of the profits lol.
And you’re speculating that his ratio payout is so low to justify that 200M is a suitable number
So give a % you’d think he’s taking from those confirms 30m-80m ranges he’s made in the 2010s
You went ahead said under half in the other post or say 40%
You really think, say 10m per year on the lowest end going by the payout you threw out is good to give away for 200m lump sum?
You’re earning 5% of that in your worst year, tack that on with potential commercial streams, licensing, and performance revenue — it’s way more in the long term.

That’s apples music revenue lol. I never mentioned the artist. I’m posting those to show why an Artist would sell their catalog because how the gap between what the streaming services and labels make vs the artist.
Even if he walks away with $100M after taxes.... 7% return on that is $7M / year without ever having to touch the principal..... Yeah I'll take it
How’d drake get a 500 m deal then
What does Drake have to do with frankie
too far gone for streaming to end
Streaming became just as predatory as labels and that’s insane
What does Drake have to do with frankie
I can’t see bieber discography being 300 ms lower than drakes idk I could be tweaking
