I saw NYU had a cybersecurity course but they wanted 18 racks lol so nah
go on udemy and take some courses there and get your cloud certificates(I did Microsoft Azure). You can get work experience on volunteermatch.org

Learn to code
this but
programming is not for everyone and there are many other fields in IT that do not need it, in case you are still passionate about computers and stuff but not about coding
Depends on what industry you want to be in. Like others said, learning how to code would be big and it wouldn't be necessary to go to uni for that.
Turned 26 this year and I’m still lost . how do i get a real career started that pays well? I feel like I’m capable I just don’t know where to look. Is going back to school really the only pipeline to 60k + a year??

yea I was thinking IT is my best bet, anyone know if those Google courses actually lead to job placement?
Become a traveling nurse
that’s back to school gangy. plus nursing is 2-3 years I believe

Yea,an RN traveling nurse could be a decent gig if that’s what you wanna do. The job itself has kinda become a meme tho cause a lot of traveling nurses will have you believe they make no less then 6 figures every job lol. I think an RN can make a nice living wage tho,it just depends on how frequent you get jobs and what not.

been seeing that WGU (wgu.edu) is a pretty damn decent online school for IT, so that's prob worth looking into if you wanna go in that direction. school can/will definitely help, even just to get past HR, but it's not like you absolutely need it.
some good, basic certs for IT would be A+ (if you don't have any experience), Network+/CCNA, and Security+. might be worth shooting for a help desk position, work that for 6-12 months while studying for certs, then just bounce when you find something you have more interest in/specialized.
as a (very new) security a***yst, i can tell you that it's a very good field.
Trade jobs if you don’t have a degree for something in particular. I like where I’m working now.
I applied to so many places on indeed. Somehow got this job thru a temp agency. They pay me a good wage, best I have received since I was a firefighter and I get a good amount of overtime. Just got a bonus last month even though I’ve only been there for 6 months too! That really helped me out TONS, soon I’ll have health insurance (here comes the rest of the world to bring up healthcare) and a 401K
I suggest going the route I went tbh. Apply to tons of places that interest you and sound like they can take care of you. I think I was 25 when I got out the Fire Dept, and I can’t even tell you how many jobs I’ve had since then (I’m only just about to be 29) but I really feel like Ifound a good place to work and learn and I have never been more independent in my life than right now
I needed to hear this today I’ve only worked random jobs through indeed and just hope one will work out my only experience is warehouses and restaurants but I want a good “real” job that pays
buy and sell pictures of monkeys
That year is around the corner for me
in a couple months I go 27
I’m 23 and terrified to turn 30
Men level up until we die. It’s your choice to peak early
@op got me scared boutta be 20 in 12 days
I made my shift towards my career by 25. You just have to know what you want and plan ahead.

If you wanna get into CyberSec get first Cisco CCNA and LPIC 1 and 2, also when you learn for this certs try to get a Help Desk Job and after earning them try to get a better pay better position. After you get these 3 certs do either Cisco CCNP or CompTIA Security+, after those if you going for big racks do OSCP or CEH(this s*** hard as f***).
Bonus: Learn how to code that will help alot if you wanna do CyberSec (Python and JavaScript mostly)
