Yeah psychedelics are nice, the only way I have felt present so far so it's nice to know that it is naturally possible without them.

Has weed helped your meditation progress at all?

Consciousness / Awareness is literally the only reality. If you aren't aware of something, then it quite literally does not exist in your reality. Being aware of something is creating it in your reality.

This is why meditation is so important. You are learning to shift your awareness from the exterior world to the inner world, your thoughts. You are literally altering your state of consciousness and this exercise, with enough practice, has the potential to reshape your entire life.

Meditation is very similar to shrooms.

Yeah I had this exact experience with shrooms, the brighter colors and everything. That's why I only want to try things like shrooms and weed every now and then, makes me question what is real and what isn't, but who knows if meditation influences that too.

Keep trying!!! Only 5 minutes a day man

You dont even gotta sit in no uncomfortable posture. The purpose of that is to keep u awake and alert but you can do that in other ways too.

I do my meditations laying down with my legs propped up and/or with my hands across my belly so i can feel my diaphragm as i breath.

gonna do this when i wake up

I guess I never actually felt a big difference during/after meditation so that's why I find it hard to do it everyday. Starts to feel like a chore. So many ppl talk it up like this goated life changing practice and I'm like dam I don't feel s***.

Ur expectations prob too high bro its not gonna change life by itself.

It just strengthens your pre frontal cortex which is basically the conductor of your brain, the main region of learning, attention, and emotional control.

It Helps you develop the skill of separating your thoughts from yourself, thus making it easier to get out of negative thought loops by noticing them for what they really are: just thoughts. But meditating for a goal kinda defeats the purpose. youre not supposed to really feel s***, that aint the point. Just focus on your breath and notice thoughts, let em go, then go back to the breath. and keep doing that until over. Its like doing mind reps, and You aint gonna go to the gym after a week or 2 expecting a mike tyson body. But you will feel a bit good after 2 weeks.

May not sound big, cause it isn’t, but in a way it doesnt matter cause mindfulness is a super powerful tool regardless esp if you find it easy to fall into your emotions, or have lots of mental fog.

I know you like hiking, you could practice mindfulness by focusing on your steps on a trail, how your feet feel on the dirt, the activity going on in your body, listening passively to the sounds of nature like music. Thats meditation too
