They were holding back in this one with the A.I. predicting their every move & them having to pull the most batshit insane plan ever to counter it. Maybe the WWII stunt plays into all that lol

Yeah, this felt like any other MI movie. Hell, the bad guy in Skyfall was already doing s*** like this. Idk how many times Ethan Hunt has had 2+ girls on his d***, watched one die, etc. He doesn't even get h**** anymore. He's asexual. Plus Ving Rames is 200 years old and him and Simon Pegg shot most of their scenes in some writers room with two close ups. Really dumb movie. Can't wait for the next one

Considering how much the movie seems to explore the dynamic between Ethan and the women in his life, I wonder if it’s maybe a comment on how little attention other men in the film actually pay towards the women in their lives, that they don’t even notice the color of their eyes?

It’s something I’ve seen crop up a few times in movies, a woman asking a man what color their eyes are.

Kitridge not noticing I understand cause he hasn’t seen her since she was young but her brother was wild lol. Could’ve easily had her wear sunglasses or something when she walked past him so maybe they were being intentional to make a point

the stunt ofc was breathtaking and the beats/moments/structure of the train sequence was all impeccable. the train carts each falling as they narrowly jump between carts was very cool. maybe one of the coolest sequences in any action movie recently.

but it didn't look too great tbh. not sure if after top gun i'd bought into the allure of cult master Tom's stunts and had way too high expectations but some of it looked very artificial.

the opening action sequence in the desert felt a bit lifeless too IMO

i found the much more simple airport sequence way more compelling. that s*** was godly
