Igor requires me to listen to Tyler singing for 40 minutes, so it can't be one of my favorites
The way Tyler used features on Flower Boy made it a lot more replayable for me
Flower Boy is pretty accessible, I'd say more than this. It's way better too so it helps as well.
S*** was garbage. Sounded like Hidden NY. Almost shed rage tears when I saw faux-hot people applauding this joke of a project on twitter
Sounds like hidden ny is f***ing hilarious
i would think igor is most accessible since it’s a pop album but i guess its weirder than flower boy so maybe that’s more accessible
his best are
1. Igor
2. Flower Boy
3. Wolf
my favorite
1. Wolf
2. Cherry Bomb
3. Igor
yup yup yup
I'm been listening to this album all day. I really felt like he had hit every vibe of his discography so far with this project to the tee and made it more listener friendly than Flower Boy.
What y'all think?
Nah wolf is probably the most accessible, cherry bomb was da best
Nah it’s still flower boy, Igor a close second though. it can’t be too accessible when his fans were complaining about dj drama
I thought it was petty and he was tryna lil bro Tyler tbh It's his album, just rap it the way he wants
Suburbs really hyped up the album on here but never heard it once outside
You're STILL doing this??
You're STILL doing this??
Easily the most played out gimmick account in KTT history
1. Cherry Bomb
2. The rest
But forreal, great album. But it’s obviously Flower Boy or Igor. Especially the last one since it got him probably the most mainstream attention of his career
Suburbs really hyped up the album on here but never heard it once outside
Ayo stfu
S*** was garbage. Sounded like Hidden NY. Almost shed rage tears when I saw faux-hot people applauding this joke of a project on twitter
Sounded like Hidden NY is crazy
The sequencing is excellent on CMIYGL and his craft as a producer really shines as well. I don't think it should really be a question if this album secured him a second Grammy win and allowed him to backdoor the album with another successful B-sides project. Whether or not the music speaks to you is one thing, but the craft is there and the mainstream attention was also there to backup the notion.
I revisited the album recently after being pretty lukewarm on it the past 3 years and feel like it does stand above his other albums in terms of song variety, rapping, and packaging. CMIYGL matches the scale and sound of his live performances in a way the other albums don't totally sell. I haven't seen anyone mention that yet and if you're a NEW Tyler, The Creator fan and happen to catch him at a fest or arena, you're getting the quality of that album experience for sure. I feel like it's hard NOT to see the appeal of this project given how wide its reach has been on a more mainstream level.
Last thing I'll say about CMIYGL is that it was able to expand the sounds Tyler is known for to his most successful degree. It's not in the "greatest hits" style of revisiting sounds for the sake of it, but more in the vein of the latest Oneohtrix Point Never album. To Tyler's credit, I think he was able to reinterpret his signature sounds in ways that felt less like departures and more like commitments to his larger universe (merch, album packaging, tours, interviews, fashion). It's all deliberate.
Tbh he already done that with Flower Boy.
This reply went from "I already done that" to "he already done that"..... I see you tyler....
