Sureeee, a rap album called flower boy on which he unexpectedly came out as bi and rapped about having a hard on for a white boy with rosey cheeks and dirt colored eyes was real safe and accessible to the casual hip-hop fan in 2017
Him coming out as gay/bi was definitely a shocker but that doesn’t make the album less safe and accessible. Production, delivery and lyrics are pretty tame compared to most of his work

Unironically yes?
The type of people who that would hurt tyler’s perception with don’t really listen to tyler

It’s absolutely his most accessible.
He gained an entire new fanbase after that album actually
And his music became much more appealing to women listeners with Flower Boy

more appealing might be a drag, tyler has always had a larger female fanbase since Goblin unironically (She)

I mean yea he did, but I’m saying that his female audience definitely grew more
The flower imagery, the pop sound, and the softer lyrics made the whole era much more appealing and easy to get in to
The album was an entry point for Tyler’s music for a lot of Gen Z
I think it’s accessible to hip hop heads but the average white female is still gonna listen to flowerboy

i’m not disagreeing with you
but i think when you say his female audience grew, you might be confusing demographics
Woke up to give backhanded compliment to a years old album. Completely unhinged
He’s not wrong tho
Some of the best work an artist can do is be completely unhinged but these white Taylor Swift Stan’s that only know the hits from artists don’t realize true greatness
S*** was garbage. Sounded like Hidden NY. Almost shed rage tears when I saw faux-hot people applauding this joke of a project on twitter
Lmaooo hidden.ny the Instagram page? What does this mean haha I’m genuinely curious

damn i didn’t know the strings on Where This Flower Blooms told me Tyler was bi

Garden Shed and I Ain’t Got Time did

i don’t think you got what i was saying
the subject matter and content of Flower Boy is completely secondary to the production which is very lush and easy listening, there’s no reason to get hung up over “mUh bI” on that album when there’s so much more going on it, it’s his most accessible by far
just sounds like projection
