I learned this lesson very young: get ripped for yourself. Women don't really care about your body composition, other men do lol.
Its all a spectrum
Women care to a certain extent. Definitely not as much as fellow men tho
i prefer the straight bar the one used to do biceps with rather then the the normal 20 lbs bar but you gotta be very careful when you flip it to live it up i f***ed up my wrist a few years back that is why i always use chalk when i am doing it
Currently at 47,5kg (104lbs) for sets and I keep progressing but its really different
Trained legs in the morning and did a 14k run in the evening, that was tough
Half a decade gang
You deal with a lot of injuries?
Not anymore. I took a year off between year 7-8 where I was mainly just walking and eating at maintenance cause I went hard year 5-7. I had injuries year 3-4 which is when I really started focusing on core, conditioning and stretching. Yoga and walking helped a lot (you can run if you want). This was my fittest time (for now) so highly recommend.
I’d say if you incorporate a stretch/rolling routine after lifting, a conditioning day weekly (like box jumps, kettlebell swings, ball throws, sprints type s***), and a deload week every 3 weeks after heavy lifting, which is just your routine at 50% weight, you can avoid injuries for a long time.
If you’re going hard like I was (2 a days or 3+ hour sessions) then you gotta sleep a lot. Like 8hr + naps. I burnt out which is probably what influenced the length of my break. My brain did not want to see a gym again for a while lmao.
When I got back, my strength came back quick so I support breaks, even if they are long, and most of the time it’s mental but your body/strength bounces back fairly quick.
got some rings to cover some body workouts i couldnt do with just furniture etc
Resting my knee and also a lil sick so haven’t worked out in 3 days 🙂↔️
you guys on here need to eat more ginger, turmeric, take zinc and magnesium optional and vitamin c d and you wont get sick

usually if i am not mistaken if your doing the straight bar the ones used for biceps they only go to 100 or 110 max try they 110 5x4-5 see how you do

ya man i hear you when i do back i am there 230 sometimes when i get home after dinner i take a 20 min nap because i am so burned out from working out because i try to hit everything because i do back on my off days so when i have to go to the gym and i know its a back day i just sometimes do feel like going but i push myself to go but conditioning is good to i always suggest to foam roll before working out and stretch every day i am doing all this everyday stretch and foam rolling stretch before and after working out

Dude it’s so important and when I started all we really had was bodybuildingforum and Reddit so learning how important it is took a few years, but once I became a trainer, it was a wrap because my manager was so big on conditioning/stretching/rolling. She really made me take rehab seriously and dig deep with researching it
Many people starting lifting today are so lucky, there’s so much knowledge and resources now
Who r the bodyweight workout folk itt?
I'm currently doing my own workout that covers all bases but would like some feedback on those who've been doing this way longer

i didn’t touch weights for a while and had a whole body weight regiment and even now do a ton of body weight work. one of my high school coaches recommended “mark lauren’s you are your own gym” don’t have to read it in detail but there’s solid stuff

With sufficient muscle activation to make sure
Nothing is being underused
And so far so good

U have ur own pullup bar/dip bar right? thats essential
usually if i am not mistaken if your doing the straight bar the ones used for biceps they only go to 100 or 110 max try they 110 5x4-5 see how you do
Might try that next week, but I’m usually loading a regular 20kg/44lb barbell with weights
@zeus123 @ROLF @NOCTA40 Thank you guys for the advice. Excited to get started on my fitness journey!

Yea my vivid memory was seeing homie in 2015 after the summer we had graduated and he was ripped and I was heartbroken from a high school sweetheart
I remember asking bro “do you want to go workout?” And the rest is history.
Bro was competing so I learned fast and hard and we used to really be in that b**** all day type s***. Like go to work, link to lift, eat after then watch UFC back before Conor blew up. We would also train outside the gym so literally just outside running/walking for hours and hours.
By the time I got to year 5 which was right when covid happened, it was like a gift from God (aside from how bad that time was). I got to use all my knowledge from those years of hard training and learning from my manager/friend and double down extra hard
I’m still tryna catch the nigga I was in 2022 before my long mental break
Soon
