Just finished Final Fantasy VI. I have a hard time playing through older games but this one holds up surprisingly well for the most part. I enjoyed the characters (especially Kefka) and the narrative was fairly engaging, plus I noticed a lot of similarities between this game and Final Fantasy VII.

The game’s script does feel a bit truncated due to the memory limitations of the SNES. I would love to see the setting and characters (especially Kefka) explored further in a potential remake.

As I was doing this I realized I never even finished Cold Steel 2

I remembered I had started it on Vita but decided I wanted to finish on PS4. 40 hours into the PS4 version now and turbo mode is coming is clutch

Played it when it hit game pass. Was flat out great. Play the definitive edition if you can and turn on the stronger monsters buff at the start

i really enjoyed it as someone who loves turn based rpgs. it doesnt have the time restriction of earlier games either so the pace is a lot more relaxed especially when crafting and searching for ingredients. a great AA jrpg imo

Started nier automata a few days ago. My god this OST is something special....

nier & nier automata have some of the best video game OSTs. too good man

I thought this too until I played Final Fantasy VII Remake

You could argue that some of the characters in FFVI are underwritten by today's standards but man, they did some genuinely amazing things with the hardware of the time. The graphics still look pretty good imo and the music is awesome

I'm playing through Final Fantasy IX now and it's immediately noticeable how the generational leap from the SNES to the PlayStation allowed for Square to really enrich their characters.

honestly i usually never play single player games but really love yakuza type s***.. 2 days later and this s*** is probs the best game ive ever played. story is also sad as hell.
