Never realised it until I looked in to his design work just now but Nomura has been the character designer on almost every major Final Fantasy title since VII. He gets roasted a lot for his more outlandish designs but he’s probably only second to Amano in establishing the visual identity of the Final Fantasy brand.

It also shouldn’t be understated that he designed one of the most iconic casts of characters in gaming:

Yeah hes a great designer; Yoshida brought him to do Gaia and Edens Promise designs in FFXIV and those two are actually some of my favourite designs

Speaking of XIV, Akihiko Yoshida is probably my favourite artist working at Square right now. This piece he did for Shadowbringers is fire:

Do ya'll recommend FF X/X-2 or FF13? Both are on sale on Steam rn. I've only played 15 but it didn't run great on my PC so I never finished it.

ffx for sure. i don't think xiii is as bad as some people make it out to be, but you can't go wrong with x. x is really just a safer choice.

x-2 is cool. haven't played a ton of it, but the combat is great.

X is one of the best in the series. Dialogue is a little cringe at times (though some would say that adds 'charm') but overall a very fulfilling story with a solid progression system/combat

I really like both sets.

The 13 Trilogy is overrated.

FF13 looks better. Both are similarly linear.

Monster hunter is a loot game it has rpg aspects but it’s a looter thru and thru it has more in common with games like destiny, warframe, borderlands etc...

X is in the holy grail of Ps2 games for me. X-2 is controversial but I personally like it. I do however understand why people dislike it. Xiii is a very very mixed experience. It’s super linear, I don’t think it’s horrible, but I’m not in love with it either.

I used to be obsessed with Kingdom Hearts when I was younger but I've grown out of the series as my appreciation for storytelling has deepened. I still love the original game though as it's the only one that still holds up for me as far as writing goes.
