Also its golden week in Japan (today?) so a lot of JRPGs will be on sale. I already see that the Atelier series are on sale in Steam

I was goign to say that I'm looking forward to playing it later this year, then I remembered it's a Falcom game
Nearing the end of Yakuza Like a Dragon. Honesty, one of the greatest game I’ve played!

When you done with that play scarlet nexus next
Enjoying XC3 Future Redeemed expansion a lot but it makes me miss XC2. Gonna wait a a couple more years and finally replay that.

Camera in that game gave me a mad headache for some reason
Replayed Act 1 of Dragon Quest XI to break in my Steam Deck. The game has a very sincere quality that pairs well with its adherence to traditional JRPG tropes and is at its best when this sincerity comes through in moments like Chalky telling the Hero to live his life without bearing grudges or Rab mourning the deaths of the King and Queen of Dundrasil.

Yea that’s the one thing that annoyed me, I eventually adapted to it but still
apparently the One Piece Odyssey DLC is supposed to have genuinely difficult enemy encounters we'll see tho
Finished my 3rd Full Play through of Persona 5. Probably don't need to play this again for a really long time.
On to something new
Anything best for me to play to get me more excited for ffxvi?
16 takes inspiration from FF12 so maybe that, combat isn't going to be anything similar to 16 but the world in 12 is probably the most detailed world out of the series.
Outside of FF I would try Scarlet Nexus. I can't think of many action JRPGs that aren't party based but Scarlet Nexus is probably the closest thing to FF16. It has a party but you are not actually managing them, instead the party members are treated like cooldowns. The game even has a stagger meter. Valkyrie Elysium also came out recently; action game and isn't party based.
Outside of JRPGs there's also DMC5 (though I won't say the play similar to each other since FF16 combat is based on cooldown and DMC is based on directional input)

This.
I'd add FFXV Royal Edition to that.
Dragon Quest Day is in 3 days
Need DQXII or DQX Localization news tbh.
I'd love for DQX to get localized. All of the jobs and content looks really fun. I do have the PC version on one of my SSDs, along with the steps for the English patch/translation, but I am far too lazy to get that set up
so prob 2025 for the western release lol
yeah see you in about 2 years lol
