no man i just got into comics now this is my first one! like 5 years ago this really hot girl was chillin in the comic section in the book store and i started chatting her up and she recommended me saga and gave me her number (lol) so i bought it, it chilled on my bookshelf for 5 years and i just randomly grabbed it on my way to work to read on the job and now im hooked and bought the entire book 1

Oh s***, welcome bro! You picked one of the best books to start off with tbh. Saga does a great job at showing how impactful the comic book medium can be. Let me know if you need any recs once you’re done with Saga. Brian K Vaughn has written some other gems as well that are in the same lane as Saga, so you’d prob enjoy those too

Yes, three books by Tom King lol. All three of these are absolutely amazing. Self contained for the most part too, so don’t need to worry about the the DC/Marvel universe BS.

Gideon Falls by Jeff Lemire (Great book from Image)
God Country by Donny Cates (another Image book about a sentient sword. S*** is so f***ing hard)

Give me TL;DR on this please bro. I’m actually working with one of the designers for Image comics, and he had brought up how comicsgate has had such a negative influence on things and has also dictated whether series’ live or die.

TL;DR: Blue haired women have a private Facebook group getting men they don't like (or have done something to them and weren't given justice) so they use their connects in the comic industry to get them and their work blackballed. Rumours of its existence have been long denied and now it has come to light.
