Yeah all these ideas are fire
Especially with the Freeman relatives (Wouldn't be mad at JD Witherspoon and The Wayans Bros. for this) + Riley jumping off the porch and Huey and him going their separate ways. They could really make some crazy s***. RIP Spoon but it lowkey might force them to expand the premise and plot setup of the show to some real s*** while keeping the social humor.
Still would have wanted this for all those saying No Pops or Charlie
Aside from whatever Regina is feeling bc of her son, no reason why this still can’t come back eventually and still be great just with them being teens going into college aged instead of adolescents
If not, I miss Black Dynamite also and there’s always the potential of a new show. Hoping it’s not ten years until another Black Dynamite/Boondocks esque show
i rewatched season one and i’m going to take the unpopular stance that they didn’t even do the comic justice the first damn time. even with new voices you can make a much better show than what they made. am i crazy for thinking this? season 1 and 2 are classics though, i obviously acknowledge that
lmfao
lmfao
they left out important characters and just bit chappelle for a lot of episodes
still a very good show
Ouuuu I’m watching this after all star game
Has Alicia keys voicing Huey, the art style is more close to the comic strip and this was supposed to be on fox

Animation Domination with Boondocks would have been insane
Thanks for posting this
Damn we dodged a bullet on this one. Probably would’ve been mega ass, especially since the best character died

Aaron would’ve been great if he showed up to work
Don't agree or even see where bro is going with this but what do you think

I'm always nervous when I hear an accent speaking on some nigga s***
I'm actually agreeing a lot with cro. Very interesting outrage about the n word episode, I agree with his take. I think nigga gets used far too loosely and with these integrated spaces. Irl I don't really say nigga around non black people, nor do I intentionally use it when speaking to perceived non black people online.
He put Payroll in it so he gets points for that
Boondocks, like almost all media, is tailored for the white gaze. Albeit, still a blassic (I don't count season 4) but for success everything has to be diluted but his takes are correct. I'm sure those points are what led to Carl and Aaron's disagreements, and also Vlad

You know this a really well made video and I think he makes some great points. I’ll need to rewatch some of the episodes he highlights but I can say for sure that the politics of the MLK episode for example are a bit muddy.

I think the video itself is interesting but unless I'm missing the YouTubers point (only seen this once), then there's a fundamental misunderstanding of what The Boondocks is trying to achieve with the topic of blackness. He's acting like the show itself isn't aware of the respectability politics and most of all, how it portrays it as a survival tactic and not necessarily a means to make "whitey comfortable." He definitely made some interesting points with the MLK episode but I mostly found the video to be in bad faith, and the fact that he glosses over the character of Tom shows you how much his argument falls apart once you really start to question it.
