Real s***, someone post their usual grocery list and where they’re getting their main source of protein from.

Mad love to the vegans but haven’t been able to make the jump yet. Strictly have fish as my meat source and have cut out dairy completely. So hard to give up a fat ass salmon fillet after my workouts 😞

    https://www.onegreenplanet.org/news/chart-shows-worlds-land-used/

The 11 million square kilometers used for crops supply more calories and protein for the global population than the almost four-times larger area used for livestock.

It's a huge waste to plant crops, only to feed them to animals, and then eat those animals.

Between 18% and 51% of all greenhouse gas emissions are directly attributable to livestock respiration, methane, production of animal products and other relatable sources, this compared to 13% from every form of transportation on the planet combined.

Animal agribusiness also both uses and pollutes almost half of the Earth's available land and is responsible for over 90% of Amazon rainforest losses. Further, it is the greatest contributor to wildlife habitat destruction, and it is easily the leading cause of species extinction and ocean dead zones.

Finally, while fracking consumes as much as 140 billion gallons of fresh water annually in the United States, the farming of animals uses at least 34 trillion gallons of fresh water annually.

This chart shows the disconnect between perceived effect/belief versus the actual fact. As you can see, not eating meat is the singularly most beneficial thing you can do in terms of environmental impact.

    Great documentaries to watch!

Not quite a shopping list but here’s a recipe for some pretty solid overnight oats (~1500 calories and 60g of protein)

    1 cup rolled oats
    1 cup nut milk
    1/4 cup peanut butter
    1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
    1/2 cup chia seeds
    Handful of strawberries
