big saucefor some niggas like Southside it’s like breathing but to make truly great beats it’s tough asf, esp starting out
that said, if you know what you doing, throwing some trap drums over a splice loop is easy and the beat will be hot but it’s not gonna be a classic or anything

InnocentWhen you go to sell your s*** people are gonna go for the more simple ones. Also midi presets from previous beats you made could definitely save you hella time when just trying to lay down a base for your ideas.
Never be afraid to use midis and presets don’t let these elitists tell you otherwise

I see mfs over there saying that in 2 hours they make a sick beat, no man that s*** is prolly all loops and dirty samples, It takes 2 days for me to make a beat, and not even done, just the idea of it, and if the idea is trash, I have to start over and over again, like f***people forget that their favorite artists, producers, hell anything in the world, only got to greatness by being persistent and sucking at it for a long time. I don't think people view it as easy either, they just don't know / appreciate it as a craft.

Southside been making beats since he was a child though, taught by his Uncle or father IIRC. most of us haven't. people underrate the importance of mentors and knowing people IRL that not only teach you but keep you motivated and on a sort of schedule / track

that said, stacking loops or actually producing around one and making a classic - definitely possible. Been done a lot. Srry if I wasn’t bein clear
